How to Import Sizing Results

from HAP
Into
Packaged RTU Builder

Carrier Software Systems


HAP Pkg RTU Builder Integration

This PowerPoint presentation is a tutorial


explaining how to take equipment sizing data
generated by HAP and import it into Packaged RTU
Builder to select rooftop equipment.

Two scenarios are described. In the first the


design engineer and sales engineer collaborate. In
the second the design engineer works alone.
HAP Pkg RTU Builder Integration

Prerequisites:
HAP v4.20a or later.
Packaged RTU Builder v1.08 or later.
X-Builder Framework v1.02d or later.
Scenario #1
Design Engineer Shares HAP Data with Sales Engineer
Use HAP to generate eqpt sizing data
Design Engineer: Save project
Archive project

E-mail project to sales engineer

Retrieve HAP archive


Make sure export equipment tags is on.
Sales Engineer: Save project
Exit

Open project
Click equipment tag
Select by performance
Scenario #1
Design Engineer:
After generating sizing data with HAP, save and archive the data.
Then e-mail the archive file to your sales engineer.
Scenario #1
Sales Engineer:
Run HAP and create a new, untitled project.
Then retrieve the archive file you received.
Scenario #1
Before saving the project, go to View/Options.
Make sure Generate and Save Equipment Tags is selected.

Then save the project and exit HAP.


Scenario #1
Run Packaged RTU
Builder and open the
project.
Equipment sizing data
generated by HAP
appears in the tag list
as items with the icon:

Click on one of these


tag items to start the
selection process.
Scenario #1
Work through the Product
Wizard to generate
candidate selections.
On the Unit Selector
choose the unit to
configure.
Scenario #1
You can then
configure and price the
selected rooftop unit.

Choose the next item


in the tag list to select
equipment for that item.
Repeat until finished.
Scenario #2
Design or sales engineer works alone

Use HAP to generate eqpt sizing data


Make sure export equipment tags is on
Save project
Exit

Open project
Click equipment tag
Select by performance
Scenario #2
Use HAP to generate equipment sizing data.
Before saving the project, go to View/Options.
Make sure Generate and Save Equipment Tags is selected.

Then save the project and exit HAP.


Scenario #2
Run Packaged RTU
Builder and open the
project.
Equipment sizing data
generated by HAP
appears in the tag list
as items with the icon:

Click on one of these


tag items to start the
selection process.
Scenario #2
Work through the Product
Wizard to generate

Fully configure the
chosen rooftop unit.

Select the next item in


the tag list to select
equipment for that item.
When finished you
can archive the Pkg
RTU Builder project and
send it to your sales
engineer for pricing and
quoting.
