Elizabeth is described as an intelligent young woman, with "a lively,
playful disposition, which delighted in anything ridiculous".
She often presents a playful good-natured impertinence that does not
offend.
Within her neighborhood Elizabeth
is considered a beauty and a
charming young woman with

Elizabeth is her father's favourite,
described by him as having
"something more of quickness
than her sisters
In contrast, she is the least dear
to her mother, especially after
Elizabeth refuses a marriage
proposal from Mr. Collins. Her
mother tends to contrast her
negatively with her sisters Jane
and Lydia, who she considers
superior in beauty and disposition,
respectively, and does not
understand her father's
preference.

Mr. Darcy
Is one of the two central characters
in Jane Austen's novel Pride and
Prejudice.

Usually referred to only as "Mr.

Darcy" or "Darcy" by characters and
the narrator, his first name is
mentioned twice in the novel

Mr. Darcy is a wealthy

gentleman with an income
exceeding 10,000 a year, and
the proprietor of Pemberley, a
large estate in Derbyshire

He is handsome, tall, and
intelligent.

Darcy lacks the ease and

social graces that comes so
naturally to his closest
friend, Charles Bingley, his
cousin Colonel Fitzwilliam,
and even to his former
childhood friend-turned-
antagonist George
Wickham (who abuses
them).

Others frequently mistake

his aloof decorum and
rectitude as further proof of
excessive pride.

Why is called Pride and
Prejudiced?
Pride and Prejudice, at first sight is an obvious representation of the
two main characters in the book, Darcy and Elizabeth.

Darcy presents pride in his every

move, especially at the beginning
of the book where he calls
Elizabeth tolerable and not
handsome enough for him.

Elizabeth holds a prejudice

about Darcy from this day on,
until she is finally proven wrong.
She hardens her heart towards
Mr. Darcy on their first meeting
and grabs at every little bit of
information she hears that shows
him to be proud, arrogant and
disagreeable.
Nowadays
Our society today is still full
of pride and prejudice,
especially between different
cultures and religions. No
human is pride and
prejudice free, it is
impossible. Although some
are more careful than others
to state their beliefs loud,
and to let their pride get out
of control.
