Design Project/Research Title

Fitness Gym Acoustic Design

II. Introduction
Ahealth club(also known as afitness club,fitness center,health
spa, and commonly referred to as agym) is a place which houses
exercise equipment for the purpose ofphysical exercise.
A gym that predominantly or exclusively consists of free weights
(dumbbells and barbells), as opposed to exercise machines, is
sometimes referred to as ablack-iron gym, after the traditional
color ofweight plates
III. Significance of the Study

It appears like exercise centers and fitness gym

classes are flying up wherever in strip shopping
centers, beside office suites, and under loft buildings in
thick urban communities. The clamor they produce,
regardless of whether from loud music, thumping
weights, or many turning stationary bicycles, is bringing
on an immersion of commotion objections, 911 calls, and
notwithstanding constraining some wellness studios to
move into confined industrial areas
IV. Objectives of the study

To compute reverberation time of the Fitness Gym.

To be able to identify the materials and equipments
found on the specified Fitness Gym
To design an acoustic acceptability required for a fitness
gym.
To improve the theoretical acoustics of the fitness gym
room from its worst condition.
To make the gym a soundproof
V. Scope and Delimitations

Scope
The study for the design improvement is to center on Jess Body Building
Fitness Gym in its actual worst acoustical structure.
The study focuses to the soundproofing of the gym
The study is based to the ISO 3382 standard for the reference of the
RT60.
Delimitation
The study conforms only to the ISO 3382 standard for rooms.
The study and its designing can only change the materials to be used in
the walls, floor, roof and etc. not changing the area of the gym structure
VI. Review of Related Studies

The reverberation time is a standout amongst the

most vital parameters in room acoustics.
The sound wave begins shape its sound source and
moves every which way. An estimation gadget will see
first the immediate sound.
At the moment the sound energy is on the wall, some
energy will be absorbed by the wall and others are reflected
changing its intensity, phase and direction

The level decreases exponentially. The resonation

time is the decay constant. Reflecting sounds within 50ms
from the source cannot be determine as echoes by the
Noise Level
In typical rooms we have a noise floor (air conditions,
PCs, traffic etc.) from 30 dB to more than 60dB.

Critical Distance
The distance from a sound source at which the
reverberant sound is equal to the direct sound.
Equation from Sabine
For many rooms, the reverberation time T can be estimated by the
famous equation from Sabine:

Recommended Reverberation Time

Rooms have different requirements for their reverberation
characteristics

RT60 Reverberation Time

The ISO 3382 norms list various area sorts for which the
resonation time ought to be streamlined, and suggests

IX. Methodology

Information gathering was the strategy utilized by the

specialists for the advancement of this venture.

X. Advancement Strategy
For the advancement system utilized as a part of the
review, having assembled the expected to information,
for example, the range of every material in the room, the
general measurements of the room, and the each of the
materials assimilation coefficient, the resonation times
were known through calculation.

The room volume of the gym is 147.0151369 cubic meter so it is

treated as a classroom the volume is less than 200 cubic meter and the
computed RT60 of the gym is between 0.3719185 seconds to
0.5311022 seconds. The gym is in good condition in acoustic manner
at the moment that the doors and windows are close

XIII. Discussion

The specialists first needed to accumulate related

reviews and writing to find out about the capacity of a
recording studio, get together information that may end
up being valuable in the examination to be made. After
having picked a particular fitness gym, Jess Fitness Body
Building Gym, to treat, the analysts then measured the
measurements of the room, alongside the materials,
hardware, and different things found and found in the
room.
XIV. Conclusion

Managing acoustics and reverberation time, there are

numerous norms in which one office or such may comply
with, to accomplish the best outcome, acoustically. In this
review, the ISO 3382 standard prescribes that for a
fitness gym, for example, Jess Fitness Body Building Gym,
it is best to have a resonation time of 0.4 seconds to 0.64
seconds.
