Introduction:
To design a simple low cost AC voltage controller

To design a circuit which doesnt demand very high precisions.

To design and implement a single phase PWM inverter using

simple ATmega8 microcontroller.

The designed PWM inverter is tested on various AC loads like AC

motor and intensity control of incandescent lamp in a closed loop
environment.

V/F Control Method
If we decrease frequency flux increases but at
the same time if we decrease voltage flux will
also decease causing no change in flux and
hence it remains constant.

Advantages
Speed control is easy
Very sensitive to the input applied
No core saturation
Automation is possible
Very less power consumption
Quick response to variation
User can change the speed at any instant of time in
accordance to his requirements.
Disadvantages
Electronic circuit can diffuse easily

Circuit is in operation all the time, so fractional

amount of power consumption is there
throughout the operation
Applications
Motor speed regulation
In manufacturing industries
Speed control of A.C motor
Fans, Compressor, Pumps, blowers,
machine tools like lathe, drilling
machine, lifts, conveyer belts etc.
Conclusion
The various technologies have been studied
and discussed. Basically the V/F method is
selected as per its efficiency and reliability
The accuracy can be further improved by using high
resolution ADCs and the delay involved in the software
can be overcome using higher versions of controllers.
Hence we can conclude that v/f method
higher compensation ability and operating
efficiency, which make it a unique solution
for AC voltage.
Future Scope
We can control speed of different motors at
the same time

We can implement V/f control method for

various types of load such as incandescent
lamp, induction motor etc

We can implement in 3 phase induction motor
