Current Scenario in India

Government Regulation: Mandatory 2% spending on CSR Activities

NGOs would have to learn to work with the corporate world for maximizing
the social benefits
CorporateSector has no clue how to spend that 2% (estimation Rs 8000cr to
20000cr) on CSR Activities
It
is a challenge for NGOs to absorb the CSR allocations and translate it into
effective programs
NGOsshould not be just implementing the CSR projects but also help the
companies in strategizing
NGOs need to be more transparent and accountable as they look forward to
be funded by the business houses
Personality Perspectives

As per the new regulations under the Companies Act, 2013, the government has
mandated a minimum CSR spend of 2 per cent of the company's profits, for all
organizations above a certain size of revenues and profit. Going by estimates,
about Rs 14,000 crore is expected to be spent towards CSR activities by companies
in the current fiscal 2016-17.
As per the Business Standard magazine, 67% percent companies choose NGO
for pursuing their social responsibilities, as partner. So if NGOs want to utilize this
fund for the development of the society they need to showcase their initiatives,

Personality Perspectives

"Most important criteria for selecting any NGO or for carrying any CSR activity is what
impact it will have on the society. With the vast reach of Social Media, it will facilitate the
sentimental analysis of the commendable work done by various NGOs on various
burgeoning issues.

NGOs working for solely the welfare of the society have to have maximum connectivity
as well as visibility among the society. For making the NGOs aware about the benefits of
social media there should be proper training programs and the youth of India can also
help a lot in this by guiding them, encouraging them.

The emerging trend of corporate NGO
partnerships
In the last 15 years, the trend of NGOs working in cooperation with business has
developed considerably. Business has the potential, capital, and efficiency to impact various
stakeholders in a positive way

Companies desiring to be more responsible do

not necessarily have the knowledge,
training, or dedication to carry out
development programs.

NGOs have become instrumental in

development work internationally, but they
generally do not have the means and
resources to carry out their projects
efficiently in a sustainable manner
