Once I had analysed my digipak audience

feedback, I decided to create interview style
questions and collect qualitative data in order to
give my target audience the chance to express
their opinion within their answer. I once again
aimed for an equal amount of males and females
which fit my target audience so I could gain an
understanding of how successful the music video
I created was. I decided to include specific
questions that would be relevant to my music
video so that I could collect and analyse
appropriate data. I simply handed out my
interview style questions to my target audience
and allowed them to answer my questions in
their own time. I did this with the intention of
allowing my audience to think about the question
and give an appropriate answer that would
reflect their opinion.

Q01: WHAT WAS YOUR INITIAL IMPRESSION OF MY MUSIC

VIDEO AND WHY?

I asked this question so I could quickly summarise my audiences opinion and gain an insight into
their initial impression of my music video. Judging from my target audiences response, the majority
thought that my music video was of a professional standard. I also learned that my 75% of my
audience was pleased with the performers lip synching throughout my music video. Furthermore, I
discovered that my target audience were also delighted with the quality of editing, shots as well as
the narrative. In my opinion, I agree with my target audience as I also thought that my performers lip
synching was well executed and that my music videos editing was of a high-quality.

Q02: DO YOU FEEL THAT THE MUSIC VIDEO WORKED WELL WITH
THE SONG AND WHY?

This question enabled me to gain an insight as to whether the music and visuals worked well
throughout my music video. I discovered that 100% of my target audience stated that the music and
visuals did in fact work well together. Moreover, I learned that the majority of my target audience was
satisfied with my narrative as well as the rest of the music video as they felt that it executed the
message behind the music video extremely well. Additionally, interviewees thought that the lyrics
also worked well with the music and visuals as the music video accurately represented but also
complimented the lyrics throughout the performance.

Q03: WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE NARRATIVE AND WHY?

I felt that this question allowed me to gain an understanding and reflect over the feedback and opinions
that my target audience had about my narrative. Once I had looked at my audiences response I
discovered that 100% of my audience were pleased with my narrative and thought that it was engaging.
Furthermore, I learned that my audience thought that the narrative was easy to understand and that it
reflected the true nature of relationships which was true for my music video. Additionally, I found that in
my audiences opinion the song related to the visuals which I had incorporated within my music video.

Q04: DO YOU THINK THAT THE LIP SYNCHING WAS EFFECTIVE? WHY?

In order to gain an insight as to whether my performers lip synching was executed successfully, I
decided to ask my target audience if they thought the lip synching was effective and why they
thought this. Once again, I learned that 100% of my target audience agreed with the fact that my
performers lip synching was effective. Furthermore, I discovered that my audience thought that my
performers lip synching was very accurate and that they didnt make any mistakes. In addition, I
discovered that my audience felt connected to the artist through his performance as well as
suggesting that there was an even balance of performance and narrative throughout my music video.

Q05: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE GUITAR PERFORMANCE

WITHIN MY MUSIC VIDEO AND WHY?

As a guitar performance was a major element of my music video, I decided to encourage my target
audience to express their opinion on this particular aspect. I discovered that my audience had mixed
opinions when it came to the guitar performance. Firstly, I learned that 50% of my audience thought
that it looked very realistic and that the guitar performance was a good idea to begin with. 50% of my
remining target audience thought that the guitar performance kept them intrigued whilst working well
with the music genre. However, they also stated that the guitar performance looked unnatural in
several areas which I (personally) agree with.

Q06: WHAT DO YOU THINK WAS A STRENGTH OF MY MUSIC
VIDEO AND WHY?

Once I had asked my audience questions about specific areas of my work (such as the narrative,
guitar performance etc.) I came to the conclusion that asking about audience what they thought was
a general strength would enable them to freely express their opinion, whilst allowing me to gain an
insight as to what aspects of my music video worked successfully. I learned that the main strengths of
my music video were the editing techniques incorporated as well as my performers performance. For
example, a member of my audience stated that The main actor performed very well because the lip
synching looked very professional. whilst another person said that they I liked the editing style, as
the transitions and flashbacks worked well to create emotion and drama. Personally, I agree with
their statements. However, a fourth interviewee stated that they thought The combination of the
story and singer and how relatable they both we to the song. was a strength of my music video.

Q07: WHAT DO YOU THINK WAS A WEAKNESS OF MY MUSIC VIDEO AND WHY?

Just like the previous question, I decided to ask a general question and allow my audience to express
their opinion in greater depth. I found that 75% of my target audience suggested that the limited
number of locations were a weakness of my music video. They also stated that the music video
became simplistic, repetitive and tedious due to the lack of location diversity. However, 25% of
my target audience proposed that The acting could be more serious suggesting that the actors were
unprofessional. Although I agree with the statements referring to my lack of locations the most, I also
accept my target audiences opinion which refers to the actors as being unserious as my audiences
views are valuable for the development of my work.

Q08: IF I WAS TO RECREATE THE MUSIC VIDEO, WHAT WOULD

YOU SUGGEST AS AN IMPROVEMENT?

Once again, I decided to enable my audience to express their opinions in greater detail by presenting
them with a general question about my music video. I discovered that there was a variety in opinions
when analysing the results for this question. I learned that 50% of my audience suggested that if I
was recreate my music video, I should replace the male actor with the male performer in order to
make my audience feel more connected to the artist. I also found that 25% of my audience thought I
should edit my music video in a non-chronological order, whereas the remaining 25% of my audience
stated that I should Increase the location variety to keep my audience intrigued. as stated before. I
agree with my target audiences opinions as well as their views on my music video.

Q10: DO YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER SUGGESTIONS AND/OR

COMMENTS? IF YES, WHAT ARE THEY?

Finally, I decided to nicely round off my interview my asking my target audience whether
they had any further suggestions or comments. I learned that 100% of my audience had no
further suggestions which I was surprised with as it suggests that both my interview music
video were a success. Furthermore, the majority of my audience thoroughly enjoyed my
music video and stated that they would watch it again. I also discovered a final comment
of The video looks very professional which, once again, suggests that my music video was
executed successfully and to a high-quality standard.
