WHAT IS ALCOHOL
Created when fruits, vegetables or grains are fermented
A natural product
Can be used as a cleaner, antiseptic, or a sedative

EFFECTS ON THE BODY


Alcohol is a depressant
Slows bodily functions
Slows the Central Nervous System
Alters ones perceptions, emotions, movement, vision, and hearing
Results in intoxication the action of the nervous system that usually
controls the behavior.

IMPAIRS ORGANS

Liver- excess overflows into the blood stream


Lungs- release a little ethanol from the bloodstream as a gas to be
exhaled in the breath
Blood Vessels- Relaxes the Central Nervous System that controls the
blood vessels of the skin to prevent the bodys loosing too much heat
Nerves and Brain- depresses

D.U.I AND UNDER AGE DRINKING


Under aged drinking is ILLEGAL.
You must be 21 years of age to purchase alcohol.
D.U.I is a misdemeanor of the second degree
Penalty of $5,000
Two years in jail

DRUNK MENTAL STATE


Causes delirium
Delirium- a state of mental confusion usually with hallucinations and
continual movement
Effects personality and character
Makes you do things you usually wont do
