Vladimir Propp
Vladimir Proppsaid that they were eight characterroles with 31 functions to a character
these are:
4. The false hero (antihero), who claims to be the hero, often seeking and reacting like a
real hero
7. The Princess, who exists as a goal or reward and often recognises and marries the
hero and/or punishes villain8. The Father rewards the hero
SUICIDE SQUAD.
1.The villain-Enchantress
4. The false hero- Joker constantly trying to save Harley Quinn from something she doesn't want to be
saved from at the end.
5. The donor-Amanda waller she gives each and every one of the suicide squad the armour in order to
defeat enchantress
6. The helper-Rick flag he helps the suicide squad but isn't great helper since he under Amanda Waller
7. The Princess- The whole suicide squad. even though they the hero they themselves want to be saved
from prison in a way this could be interpreted as them being they own little princess.
8. The Father, Amanda waller. she is presented as a dispatcher and one plus a father as she the main
reason why the Task Force X happened anyway.

Claude Levi-Strauss
Claude Levi Strauss had a concept of binary opposition and that the production of meaning depended on
this. this I love looking at different conflict between the 2 qualities and the understanding of the text and how
it produces meaning by setting up oppositions.
Examples:
Good vs Bad
Hope vs Fear
Love vs Hate
Peace vs War
With the use of Levi-Strauss, I found a couple of things with Avengers: The Age of Ultron would be:
Avenger vs Ultron
Vision vs Ultron
Roland Bathes
Action codes
These are narrative devices that show a resolution rough action this
engages the audience to stick around an example would be a shoot out
between a hero and villain.
One of the most Iconic series of movie 007 constantly uses action
codes to engage the audience this always pulls them in and creates
suspension and tension and make you hunger for more. The fact that
the 007 is always in a suit signifies his importance's and how
he'sclassic to his nature. the use of Black in the poster could represent
the mystery behind 007.
Enigma codes
These are the narrative device that teases the audience with
mysteryso they will ask for more and still through the entire movie or
TV show.
