When reading the Holy Scriptures?

example, should any scripture be


read without understanding?
"We have sent it down as an Arabic
Qur'an so you people may
understand / use reason" [YA, Quran:
12:2]
In this Verse or Ayat, what is Allah
saying? Discuss.

What steps can you take to
understand an article while reading?
Pair up, discuss with your partner
On the given cards write your
ideas using keywords or phrases
ONE idea per card

Group similar ideas, add title cards


Everyone to help study the grouped
cards and third volunteer to add a
Title card to each group.
Two volunteers to collect cards
Each card should be shown,
attached to the board and then
similar ideas grouped in columns

Group Presentations: Application


Class

to break up into SIX groups.


Each group to settle on a model for
reading after comparing the mind
map with their title idea cards.
Take the article from your teacher or
given in Moodle.
Read the article. Apply your reading
model.

Poster Presentations
After

reading, focus and present your


understanding of ONE section of the
paper. Each group to choose ONE area:
Abstract
Introduction
Questionnaire
Analysis
Conclusion
References

After Presentation - Task 1:


Upload

your presentation in the


course blog and lesson section
Deeply study ONE presentation other
than your own. Add your questions,
comments or suggestions there.
Justify/answer the questions,
comments or suggestions on your
own presentation.

Home Task: 2
Decide

on a reading model that suits


you. Justify each step of the model to
yourself.
Now apply your model to an academic
article, summarize and share your
understanding in the blog.
Remember to include citations and
references.
