Target Population
Content is based off of K-8 Common Core

Curriculum. In PFES, gifted students will have the


opportunity to work on middle school skills.
PFES is 99.9% free/reduced lunch, so many students
may not have internet access at home
Students can be given the option to bring their own
laptops/ipads
There are 2 computer labs, 2 Mac carts, 2 Ipad carts,
4 classroom desktops, 10 media center desktops, &
each teacher has a laptop & Ipad.

All students have individual emails & logins
Access to 25 or more computers with Wifi or internet

access
25 or more headphones are needed to eliminate
distractions
A 1:1 computer technology model is desired,
particularly for pilot classrooms

Limitations
Students must have internet capability at home in

order to access program for additional practice


Students will need to have consistent internet access
as well as access to the equipment in order for the
program to be meaningful
Given that the entire school must share equipment,
obtaining consistent access can & will be a challenge
Wifi in certain halls of the building does not always
work

MobyMax Cost
Some basic components of MobyMax are offered for

free
For more advance use, teachers can pay $59 for a
teacher pro license OR the school can purchase a
$299 license for the entire school
Computers, Ipads, Macbooks, desktops, &
headphones have already been purchased & are
available for use

Title 1 funds can be used to purchase a license for the

program
Teachers can seek funding through websites such as

I have been using MobyMax for the past month as part of my summer school program. I have
20 students, all with IEP's working to recover credits in several different courses. Using
MobyMax I was easily able to get an idea of their skill level and gaps that they had in their
knowledge, and customize their path through mathematics. In just three weeks (3 hours a
day) I had most of my students improve a full grade level!

MobyMax has been a great tool for differentiating material in order to reach the needs

MobyMax has made it quick and easy for me to ascertain the reading and math levels
of my students. It provides targeted instruction on their needs.

Implementation/Professional Learning
Pilot teachers would benefit from a training/tutorial of MobyMax and

all of its features

-Live webinars are offered by MobyMax for the entire
school, at
no cost!
-Videos, tutorials, webinars can take place during faculty
meetings, and/or common planning times
Pilot classrooms can be established on each grade level. Upon years

end, data can be analyzed to determine if the program was effective


enough for a license to be purchased for the entire school.

Reflection
I utilized the free components of MobyMax for a short period of time

last year. Since then, they have made tons of enhancements and I
definitely want to purchase a license. This website makes it very easy
for teachers to differentiate instruction. Its also a great way for
teachers to collaborate with parents and students when theyre at
home. There are tons of tools & features that make teaching &
learning less complicated for the teacher and the students. I love the
fact that it contains built-in motivation for students so that they are
constantly being engaged and pushed. My major concern with
implementing the advanced features is the inconsistent wifi,
unrepaired equipment, & inconsistent access to the equipment that
teachers at my school often face. If these issues arent dealt with,
attempting to implement this in my classroom may be meaningless.
