S12 Hardware
Requirements
General BSC hardware (HW) requirement:
All BSCs need Pentium processing power with S12 release. BSS12 will therefore
require High Capacity BSC, i.e. BSCi, BSC2i or BSC3i product configurations as
stated in BSC SW TN 796
Memory requirement for all computer units (MCMU, OMU, BCSU) is 512 MB
Both first and second generation Packet Control Units (PCU1 & PCU2) can still be
used with S12 basic release.
Application SW related HW requirements:
New Application SW products Dual Dual Transfer Mode (DTM), Extended Dynamic
Allocation (EDA) and High Multislot Classes (HMC) require second generation
PCU2 HW
Application specific HW requirements are highlighted in feature dependency tables
of the BSS12 FUD documentation
BSC HW requirements are described in BSS12 FUD and BSC HW TN 154
