INTRODUCTION
Simulation and modelling
Simulation
a simulation of a system is the operation of a model of the system
it can be studied and properties of a system can be improved through
simulation
simulation is used before an existing system is altered or a new
system is built to reduce the chance of failure to meet specifications
and optimize system performance
Modeling
the process of producing a model
a model is representation of the construction and working some
system.
it is not so complex until it is possible to understand and experiment it.
model is built to test the success of a system
it also built to test the effect of the changes to the system.
STELLA SOFTWARE
STELLA is a short name for a software called System Thinking,
Experimental Learning Laboratory with Animation.
It is a visual programming language for system dynamics modelling
introduced by Barry Richmond in 1985.
It is distributed by systems called isee systems.
It is a software which allow any users that own the software to run the
software created as graphical representations of a system.
With this software we can see the effects of a system on a model.
Stella has been used in education institutions, science experiment and
software engineering.
GRAPH 1
Graph 2 shows the number of owls put at first is at minimum which 5 owls
and the number of rats puts is at the maximum which is 4000 rats. The
graph shows the unstable number of owls and rats respectively over years.
When the number of owl increase, the number of rats decrease and vice
versa. At the same time the production of palm fruit is increasing
proportionally over years due to unstable number of predator controlling the
pest from running the palm fruit.

ADVANTAGES
simulation can give the best picture of how a system works.
Student can feel the real experiment of how a simulation of a system works.
Learning process on a real simulation can give motivation to students to
understand and study more about the behaviour of a system without building
the model.
Save the need of providing the necessary apparatus in doing experiments.
To make system works, a simulation can be tested with try and erorr
concept by changing the variables to get the best possible outcomes in
future.
DISADVANTAGES
It give a higher cost to install software to a scholl.
It also need higher cost to build a model of a simulation
Training required to teach the educators to use the simulation
software.
It need time to become expert an expert user if an user have a
poor understanding of how physical systems work.
Sometimes, simulation modelling and analysis can be time
consuming.
CONCLUSION
