CONCLUSION

SIWES

SIWES was established by ITF in 1973 to solve the problem of lack of

adequate practical skills preparatory for employment in industries

The Scheme exposes students to industry based skills necessary for a

smooth transition from the classroom to the world of work. It affords
students of tertiary institutions the opportunity of being familiarized and
exposed to the needed experience in handling machinery and equipment
which are usually not available in the educational institutions.

COLD ROLL MILL.

6 HIGH REVERSE COLD ROLLING
MILL.

The wide range of products able to be rolled by these mills includes low, medium
and high carbon steels, along with copper, brass and a number of alloys.
Additionally, a very wide range of strip widths can be treated, and output thickness
can be as thin as 0.12 mm. And with mill speeds of up to 1400 meters per minute,
high levels of productivity and cost-effectiveness are guaranteed.

FEATURES

200 mm to 1700 mm strip widths

200metres/min. to 1400 metres/min. mill speed

Output thickness up to 0.12mm

Roll separating force 300 tonnes to 2100 tonnes

Production capacities up to 350,000 tonnes per year (single stand)

Production capacities up to 600,000 tonnes per year (twin stand)

CONCLUSION

The engineering discipline is practical in nature and mainly

hinged on experience. Hence there is a great need for any
student aspiring to be a professional engineer to have some
forms of work experience while studying at school, in a
reputable engineering firm to his/her course of study

The SIWES program has exposed me to practical work,

which enable me to relate what I learnt in school to real world
situation.
