Correctly Using Colourful


Substitution Table

Abstract

The aim of this action research is to improve writing simple sentences


by using substitution table among Year 2 pupils. 4 respondents were
selected as the result of the information that required from interview,
observation and document analysis. All the respondents are the pupils
from urban school in Miri. This action research focused on the use of
substitution table to improve correct simple sentences writing among
the low and average pupils. The action research model suggested by
Kemmis and McTaggart (2000) has been used throughout the whole
process. During the research, there are 3 collection method has been
used which were interview, observation, and document analysis. The
results of the study showed the effectiveness of using the substitution
table with different colours of verbs and nouns to help the pupils to
write simple sentences correctly. It also effective to develop vocabulary
knowledge among the Year 2 pupils that involved with this research.

Improvements can also be
made on the teaching aid
itself.

them understand it better
