GLOBAL OIL MOVEMENTS (GOM) OVERVIEW

CRUDE OIL
It is a naturally occurring, flammable liquid consisting of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons of
various molecular weights and other liquid organic compounds, that are found in geologic
formations beneath the Earth's surface.

Its a Fossil Fuel

even greenish)

CLASSIFICATION OF CRUDE OIL

Broadly Crude is classified based on
1. Sulphur Content
2. API Gravity (Density)
3. Origin (Viscosity, Colour & Metal Content)

Light

API > 31.1o

Sweet

< 0.5 % by Wt

Heavy

API < 31.1o

Sour

> 0.5 % by Wt

Apart from the above crude is also classified based on

1. Bituminous & Non Bituminous
2. Lube bearing & Non Lube bearing

TSW OVERVIEW

TSW is a scheduling tool designed to plan and control hydrocarbon movements

through the supply chain.

TSW combines all the functionality needed to manage hydrocarbon supply chain. The
functionality includes planning, Nominations, in-transits, receipts and deliveries and
interfaces to business partners and other systems.

TSW combines standard SAP functionality and data, such as customers and vendors,
sales and purchase orders, deliveries and receipts with oil industry specific
functionality such as Nominations.

DORADO PROJECT GOM / TSW OVERVIEW

GOM - GLOBAL OIL MOVEMENTS & STRIPES

(LEGACY XOM SYSTEMS)
GOM is primarily a Global Scheduling system. Nominations, Tickets, Stock Project Worksheets,
Lite versions of contracts and Orders and Master Data are the main components of GOM
system
Stripes systems are the Accounting systems and hold information about trade capture, OTC, PTP,
Nomination Lite and much more.
GOM converts the ERP documents to lite versions
Sales Order Lite, Sales Contract Lite
Purchase Order Lite, Purchase Contract Lite
( Lite is a reference to the fact the fields in contracts/orders NOT relevant to scheduling are
not brought into GOM)
A GOM mapping tool converts Stripes data to GOM values. Examples:
ERP material codes to GOM global material codes
ERP plant codes to GOM location codes
MoT, Scheduling Organization, and material group to Transport System codes
There is a LOT more fields that get mapped!

Compare object type wise

(Programs/Domain/Data Elements/Class etc)
custom objects list in STRIPES from TADIR
table. With this we get percentage of impact.
Then compare common objects attributes (for
Domain/Data Elements) between GOM and
STRIPES. Compare common Programs/User

Need to merge GOM and STRIPES functionality
