the act of
defying someone or something
Example: For a second, he thought he saw a flash of
defiance in
Zeros eyes, but then it passed.
(Page 96)
Climax
Personally, I think the climax in this chapter lies
in the interaction between Stanley and Zero. Why,
you may asked? It is because their conversation
and their way of interacting with each other will
most likely spark a character development for both
Stanley and Zero.
And the other climax is when Stanley figured out
what KB stands for and how he knows it.
Conflict
Unfortunately, there
was no serious conflict
in this chapter.

Parched
Part of speech: Adjective
Definition: very dry especially because of hot
weather and no rain;
very thirsty
Example: His mouth was as dry and as parched as
the lake.
(Page 105)
Climax
I think, the climax of this chapter lies in the scene
where the boy asked what happened to Mr. Sirs face.
The reason for that is because when Mr. Sir chocked
that boy, the atmosphere was really tense and that
could cause another conflict.
Another climax is when Mr. Sir purposely didnt fill
Stanleys canteen. The atmosphere was uncomfortable
for both Stanley and the readers.
Conflict
I personally think that a beginning conflict will
start from page 106. Why? Well, that is because
the interaction between Mr. Sir and Stanley on
that page had a tense atmosphere in it.
I felt like there will be an ongoing conflict after
seeing Mr. Sir wasting Stanleys share of water, it
maybe because of what the Warden did to him.

I think, the climax in this

confesses her love for Sam.

I think a new conflict will
appear soon after the
scene where Hattie Parker
saw Sam and Katherine
Barlow kissing each other.

The climax in chapter 26 are
mainly set in pages 112-113
where the schoolhouse was
burned by the command of Trout
Walker.
Conflict
This whole chapter is a conflict in the
first place. But, I think the Main
conflict for chapter 26 lies in the scene
where Miss Katherine argued with the
drunk sheriff and the scene where
Sam was shot along with Mary Lou.

Climax
This chapter in particular, had a long climax.
In fact, the whole chapter could be a climax.
Why? Well, that is because even from the
beginning of the chapter, something drastic
had already happened and it continues until
the end of the chapter.
Conflicts
There are more than 1 conflict in chapter 28.
The first conflict is when Trout and Linda barged in
Kates place and threaten to kill her if she doesnt tell
