Scripting

HCL

Overview Scripting

Utilizes Jython and VB.net

Import Scripts
Provided in the Import format
Supports Jython only

Mapping Scripts
Provided for Between, In and
Like
Supports Jython and SQL

Event Scripts
Provided for workflow events
Supports Jython and VB.net

Custom Scripts (PSU2)

Separate UI for execution
Jython and VB.net

HCL

Create Import Script

Navigate to Setup > Script

Editor
Select the target app used in
previous steps
Click the New button to
create a new script
Select script type of Import
Enter file name for script.
Do not include an extension
Click OK

HCL

Enter Import Script Details

Select the script created in

the previous step from the
list of scripts on the left side
Enter or cut and paste the
following script into the edit
window
def yourscript(strfield,strrec):
strfield = strfield + - +
strrec[13:33]
return strfield

This script concatenates the

account code with the
description and updates the
account

After the script is created, it must be

linked to the import format
The function accepts two parameters
field and record. The field is the
dimension value, and the record is the
entire row. The function returns the
value for the dimension.
HCL

Assign Script to Import

Format

Navigate to Setup > Import Format

Select the import format previously created
In the expression field for the account dimension,
specify the script name

SCRIPT =<scriptname>.py
You must include the extension of PY

Click the save button

When running the data rule, the import script will be
used to process the account dimension
Run the data import but only load to FDMEE, do not
Export to target
HCL

Create Mapping Script

Navigate to Workflow
> Data Load Mapping
Make sure POV is set
correctly
In the target value
for the Like
mapping with 11* as
a source enter
#SCRIPT
Click on the hour
glass icon to enter or
edit the script

HCL

Enter Mapping Script

Details
In

the script editor, enter or

cut and paste the following

account = fdmRow.getString("ACCOUNT")
entity = fdmRow.getString("ENTITY")
# Map based on account and dept column
values
fdmResultMap["ATTR1"] = account + "-" +
entity
if (account[0:2] == "11" and entity == "01"):
fdmResult = "Cash2"
fdmResultMap["AMOUNTX"] = 0
This

script checks for the first

two characters of the account
= 11 and the entity = 01. If
this passes, then the target is
changed and the amount is set
to zero

To test, perform a data import and

validate, but do not export
HCL

Additional Scripting Considerations

Applicable FDM scripting APIs ported to FDMEE

Additional predefined Jython objects also available
fdmRow

Used to access any TDATASEG column in the current row being processed by mapping
Syntax is fdmRow.getString[<column name>]

To get the value for ENTITY, specify fdmRow.getString[ENTITY]

fdmResult

Return the value from the mapping function

Set the value by specifying fdmResult = 1110
Updates the value for the target dimension, also referred to as the X column

fdmResultMap

Used to update any column in the TDATASEG table

For example, to update the ATTR1 column use fdmResultMap[ATTR1] = New Acct
For example, to set the target amount to 0, use fdmResultMap[AMOUNTX] = 0
