WHAT IS A TEXT?
Fowler (1991) defines text as a text is
made up of sentences, but there exist
separate principles of text.
According to Halliday and Hasan (1976) a
text is a unit of language in use and it is
not defined by its size.
A text is best regarded as a semantic unit.
A text has texture.
A text can be formalized, informal,
permanent or temporary.
