Debido a su gran tamao, en Estados Unidos se pueden encontrar ejemplos de casi todos
los climas del mundo. La mayor parte del territorio tiene climas templados, pero existen
excepciones que van desde el rtico de Alaska hasta el tropical de Hawi. A continuacin
repasamos los distintos tipos que se pueden encontrar:

Because of its large size, in America you can find examples of almost every climate in
the world . Most of the territory is temperate climates , but there are exceptions ranging
from Arctic Alaska to tropical Hawaii. Here we review the different types that can be
found:

Clima de tundra rtica. Aparece nicamente en el

norte de Alaska.
Arctic tundra climate.It appears only in northern
Alaska.

Clima de los bosques boreales. Aparece en todo el

centro de Alaska muy modificado por el relieve
montaoso de la regin.
Climate boreal forests.It appears throughout central
Alaska heavily modified by the mountainous terrain of the
region.

Clima continental hmedo. Aparece bsicamente al este

del ro Misisipi y los montes Apalaches. Tambin se
encuentra en algunos puntos concretos del oeste de las
Rocosas, pero est muy desvirtuado.
Humid continental climate.Basically appears east of the
Mississippi River and the Appalachians.It is also found in some
specific points west of the Rockies, but itis very distorted.

Dry climate of the middle latitudes.It appears in the central
areas of theUnited States east of the Mississippi River and many

Clima ocenico. Se limita a una estrecha franja de la costa del

Pacfico, desde el norte de California hasta la frontera con
Canad, y a la costa de Alaska.
Oceanic climate.It is limited to a narrow strip of the Pacific coast
from northern California to the Canadian border, and the coast of
Alaska.
Clima mediterrneo. Aparece en una franja muy estrecha de la
costa oeste, en el centro y sur de California. Tanto este como el
ocenico estn muy poco desarrollados por la inmediata
presencia de las montaas Rocosas al adentrarse hacia el
interior.
Mediterranean climate.It appears in a very narrow strip of the
west coast, in the central and southern California.Both this and the
ocean are poorly developed by the immediate presence of the
Rocky Mountains to penetrate inland.

Clima subtropical hmedo. Aparece en todo el sudeste de

Estados Unidos, desde la mitad sur de la costa este hasta
casi la frontera con Mxico, por buena parte del golfo de
Mxico y penetrando bastante en el interior por el sur de
las llanuras centrales.
Humid subtropical climate.It appears throughout the
southeastern United States, from the southern half of the east
coast almost tothe border with Mexico, for much of the Gulf of
Mexico and quite penetrating inside the south of the central plains.
Clima subtropical seco. Se da en las inmediaciones de los
desiertos del sur de Estados Unidos, ms concretamente
en los estados de Tejas, Nuevo Mjico, Arizona y
California.
Dry subtropical climate.It occurs in the vicinity of the deserts
of the southern United States, specifically in the states of Texas,

Clima tropical seco. Aparece en lugares muy concretos de los valles

profundos del sur de las Rocosas y a sotavento de los vientos del oeste.
Dry tropical climate.It appears in very specific places of the deep
valleys of the southern Rocky and downwind of the westerly winds.
Clima monznico. Se encuentra en la punta sur de Florida pero est
muy escasamente representado.
Monsoon climate.It is located in the southern tip of Florida but is very
poorly represented.
Clima tropical. En la isla de Hawaii.
Tropical climate.On the island of Hawaii.
