Objectives
It is our main concern to propose a simplified
model of
an Inverter by making use of Pulse Width
Modulation
switching technique that can be achieved by
avoiding
complexities for the purpose of achieving a sine
output.

Why pure sine wave is better?

Less THD (Total Harmonic Distortion).
Suitable for universal application.

Advantages
Low THD.
Simpler design
Comparatively low cost than other pure sine wave inverter.
Ideal for all application.

Difficulties
Difficult to design a sharp cut-off Low Pass Filter (LPF). So

Simulink Low Pass Block is designed for simplicity of design.

Comparatively costly than other simple switching inverters.
Voltage regulation increases due to LPF.
Higher efficiency & better regulation difficult to obtain.
19

Conclusion
Its difficult to design and implement than simpler

switching inverters, such as, square wave or quasi square

wave inverter.
But its simpler and less costly than a pure sine wave
inverter without PWM method.
Due to LPF, regulation occurs which can be minimized by
designing more complex and sophisticated LPF.
A buck-boost converter can be used to convert lower level
DC voltage to Upper level DC voltage.
Future improvement can further be achieved by
developing filtering mechanism, control mechanism etc.
