BI is a process (set of activities) to run business smarter

way, i.e. collecting the data from various operational


sources,
(staging area) , combining and storing it in a
database or data warehouse.

And, this consolidated data should be reported, analyzed

and distributed to the right people in the required format


like PDF, Excel etc.

Data Merging
--Merging the business data which is from various
operational sources into single database or data
warehouse. Ex. Merge, Merge Join and Union All etc

Data Cleansing
--Process of Identifying invalid, inaccurate data and
modify it in correct format. Ex. Fuzzy Lookup, Fuzzy
group transformations, Sort and Aggregate (Group
by).
