1. Introduction

Network of computers OR Internet has become an essential utility in modern


day society (common terms like NET and ONLINE)
Social Media and Mobility in particular has taken Internet to new heights
India still requires 5,000 or more cyber security professionals to
handle crimes ruining our economy, said National Cyber Security
Coordinator, PMO, New Delhi
Awareness on Cyber Security at school level upholds commitment to this
collective social responsibility for national security and also economic security.
Thus it is our efforts on skill development in the field of cyber security by
Kumudini Foundation (R) to reachout to student community across school, PU
colleges, degree colleges across rural and urban regions.

Explanations
Hacking is illegal intrusion into computer system in the connected ecosystem like network
Denial of Service Attack Act by the criminal who floods the bandwidth on the victims network. E-mail
box with spam mail depriving him of the services. Example: pumping of unwanted mails to a set of cyber
target users
Virus attacks malicious software that attaches itself to other software
Computer vandalism is malicious behavior that involves damaging computer systems and data in
various ways and potentially disrupting businesses. Typical computer vandalism involves the creation of
malicious programs designed to perform harmful tasks such as erasing hard drive data or extracting login
credentials.
Cyber Terrorism ; is the act of Internet terrorism in terrorist activities, including acts of deliberate, largescale disruption of computer networks, especially of personal computers attached to the Internet by the
means of tools such as computer viruses. Objectives may be political or ideological since this can be seen
as a form of terrorism.[2]
Software Piracy ; Software piracy is the stealing of legally protected software. Under copyright law,
software piracy occurs when copyright protected software is copied, distributed, modified or sold. Software
piracy is considered direct copyright infringement when it denies copyright holders due compensation for
use of their creative works.

As digital consumers, we use the internet every day in order to


access social media like whatsapp, facebook, tweeter etc, do
personal or business banking and get the latest updates on news and
sporting events. 8 safety and preventive steps:
1. Constantly update passwords and login details periodically
change passwords
2. A secure computer will deter cyber criminals install latest anti
virus
3. Be social media savvy : Make sure your social networking profiles
(e.g. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) are set to private. Check your
security settings. Be careful what information you post online. Be
careful on the Internet too much is too bad..
