what is ecosystem?
Anecosystemis abiological environment consisting of all the
livingorganismsorBiotic component, in a particular area, and
the nonliving, orAbiotic component such as air, soil, water and
sunlight with which the organisms interact.

Functional

aspects of ecosystem are:

Energy cycles
Food chains
Diversity- interlinks between organisms
Nutrient cycles- biogeochemical cycles

Producers:

plants are producers in the ecosystem, as the manufracture

their food by using energy from the sun.

Consumers:

Consumers are oring other organisms of an ecological food chain

that receive energy by consuming other organisms.

Decomposers:

A bacterium or fungus ,that feeds on and breaks down dead

plant or animal matter, thus making organic nutrients available
to the ecosystem.

Energy

flow in ecosystem:

every ecosystem has several interrelated mechanisms that

affect human life. These are the water cycle, carbon cycle, the
oxygen cycle, the nitrogen cycle and the energy circle.
Every ecosystem is controlled by these cycle, each ecosystems
abiotic and abiotic features arevdistinct from each other.
All the function of the ecosystem are in some way related to the
growth and regeneration of its lant and animal species.

Food

chain:

The transfer of energy from the source in plants

through a series of organisms, by eating and being
eaten.

Food

webs:

At each transfer, a large proportion of enrgy is lost in

the form of heat. These food chains are not isolated
sequences, but are interconnected with each other.
The interlocking pattern is known as the food web.

Ecological

pyramids:

The trophic level together form the ecological pyramid.
