BEHAVIOR 1

Make ethical decisions by applying the standards of the NASW

Code of Ethics, relevant laws and regulations, models for ethical
decision-making, ethical conduct of research, and additional codes
of ethics as appropriate to context.
I try to relate the Code of Ethics to any ethical decisions that are
happening at the school.
What tasks and learning activities will you engage in to reach your
learning objectives?
Every night I will study the NASW and do personal research on relevant information
to successfully demonstrate a thorough understanding of ethical decision making
during my internship.

How will you measure what you have learned?

By applying the knowledge I learned from the NASW to my internship and taking
notes.

BEHAVIOR 2
Use reflection and self-regulation to manage personal values
and maintain professionalism in practice situations.
I reflect on my actions and ways that I can improve during my
internship.

What tasks and learning activities will you engage in to

reach your learning objectives?
I will avoid getting my own personal values in conflict with my practice by
leaving my personal values at home and maintaining a professional
demeanor during my internship.

How will you measure what you have learned?

Reflecting about how I can increase my professionalism in the field setting.

BEHAVIOR 3
Demonstrate professional demeanor in behavior; appearance; and
oral, written, and electronic communication.
During my internship I follow the dress code and try to be as professional
as possible when communicating with the staff, parents, and students.
What tasks and learning activities will you engage in to reach your
learning objectives?
Following the dress code at I. E. Johnson.
Never discussing my internship publically over social media
Being reserved and respectful about the things that I say and write in the professional setting

By reflecting on my actions.

BEHAVIOR 4
Use technology ethically and appropriately to facilitate
practice outcomes.
I only try to use technology when my supervisor asks me to do work on
my laptop. So far, I have made multiple drafts of a brochure for Tips for
Having Successful Child and Family Support Meetings and signs for the
parent resource center.
What tasks and learning activities will you engage in to reach your
learning objectives?
I will only use technology when appropriate in the workplace setting.

How will you measure what you have learned?

By being aware of how often I am using technology during my internship.

Use supervision and consultation to guide
professional judgment and behavior.
I ask my supervisor questions to learn more about school
social work. This helps me learn how to act in a
professional school social work setting.
What tasks and learning activities will you engage in to
reach your learning objectives?
Dont do anything without permission from the supervisor.
Ask questions and attempt to learn proper protocol for certain
situations.

How will you measure what you have learned?

By taking notes and asking questions.
