5620 SAM Service Assurance
50 | Product Overview
Each SNMP trap is given a sequence number, if the 5620 SAM receives a SNMP trap
that is out of sequence the 5620 SAM will automatically query the respective
router and retrieve the missing SNMP traps
This for example would then ensure that all accounting records are retrieved
from the network and stored centrally in 5620 SAM

5620 SAM enables the operator to invoke individual network wide tests with the ability to
view the comprehensive current & historic results
The 5620 SAM also enables tests to packaged into polices & suites which can invoked on
an ad-hoc basis or scheduled to occur in the future &/or repeated over a defined period
of time

Test Manager - Test Policy
Within the Test Manger define a Test Policy with:
A type of object (VLL, VPLS.etc)
No need to define at this point which objects
A number of elemental tests (Mac ping, Mac Trace, LSP Ping.etc)
The elemental test will define: Test Parameters & Results configuration
