EMS Modules Service Manager (SM)

Service Manager module is configured to implement the below mentioned
areas.
Interaction Management - Request and Incident Management
Event Management Managing auto generated events (Critical)
Problem Management - Done to identify opportunities for effective Root Cause
Analysis (RCA).
Change Management - Changes are managed, reviewed and scheduled for
implementing the
proposed initiatives and also to provide permanent solutions
to the
identified problems
Service Level Management - Agreed timelines will be configured for automated
notifications
& escalations
Knowledge Management - To maintain the KEDB and the inventory.

EMS Modules Business Service Manager (BSM)

BSM populates user dashboards indicating the performance of
Infrastructure for the location. We can log in to BSM and understand
where the performance issue is & what are the bottlenecks behind it.
All types of event consolidation from all the event system like Operation
Manager (OMW) and Network Node Manager (NNMi) takes place at
BSM and auto ticket logging for Critical events. (Event Types Warning,
Major, Minor and Critical)
There are different views to see the Infrastructure and the status of all
the CIs. The events triggered in OMW & NNMI will be sent to BSM and if
critical, BSM will send the event to SM for generating incident ticket.
Business Process Monitor (BPM) is integrated with BSM, is used for
monitoring the CBS Intellect application availability.
Below listed are features of BSM : Centralized dashboard view for applications and infrastructure for management
view
Integrated with OMW and NNMI for event consolidation
Integrated with SM for incident ticket generation
Integrated with AM for populating the CI information in its built-in Real time
System Manager (RTSM) Database

EMS Modules Operation Manager Window (OMW)

ion Manager has agents installed on the monitoring hosts and send threshold br
o the host. These agents (Software agents) carry out the instructions specified in
rule-sets called Policies.
s can be thought of as templates that indicate which information is monitored an
on managed nodes and which events and messages the management server pa
nsole.

ion Manager policies are deployed to managed nodes to provide consistent,

ated administration across the enterprise.
les management, heterogeneous and includes support for a broad range of
ws and UNIX systems and applications including databases. It also uses
Smart Plug In) to monitor Weblogic Application and Database.

an also be used to monitor all severs and applications. We can acknowledge

from the Operation Manager console.

s integrated with BSM; the events triggered in OMW will be sent to BSM and if cri
ill send the event to SM for generating incident ticket

EMS Modules Network Node Manager (NNMI)

work Node Manager provides comprehensive event management, proactive

ormance monitoring, automated alerting, reporting and graphing for network
ices.

w listed are the features of NNMI :-

overing Core switches, SAN switches and Load balancers

NM is integrated with BSM; the events triggered in NNM will be sent to BSM and
critical, BSM will send the event to SM for generating incident ticket.
elps in generation of performance reports of all network devices and status of
nterfaces

EMS Modules Universal Discovery (UD) and Universal

Configuration Management Database (UCMDB)
Universal Discovery (UD) is used as an automated discovery and
inventory tool that performs periodic inventory of the IT assets
connected to organizations network and made visible to UCMDB.
UD Agents are installed on all the Windows and Unix servers which
helps in discovery of any changes in assets configurations.
UCMDB is integrated with the Asset manager using Connect IT, in order
to import the inventory information of the IT equipments to Asset
Manager for Portfolio Management. Email alerts for any changes in
the inventory configurations are triggered through Asset Manager
(AM).
It provides hardware and software Inventory data (it is primarily a
collection tool to gather asset data which is then imported into AM to
manage the assets.)

EMS Modules Asset Manager (AM)

Asset Manager is primarily used for Contract and License Management.
Asset Manager is given the inventory details using Connect IT from
UCMDB. Asset Manager is used to determine software asset
compliance in order to do the software license management.
Email notifications are being sent to the contract supervisor before
contract expiry and also for license non compliance.
Below listed are the features of AM : AM works as a centralized asset repository that gets automated
inventory feed
from DDMI
SAM module maintains the software licensing information for Oracle,
Windows versions
Contract module maintains the AMC details for tracking
Asset Manager will be used to do Contract management and to
determine software asset compliance in order to do the software
license management.

EMS Modules Service Health Reporter (SHR)

Service Health Reporter generates reports on availability, resource
utilizations, network devices, trending and also helps forecasting.
SHR also leverages customised reporting capabilities.
Below listed are the features of SHR : Reporting tool for Servers
SHR server communicates with the OMW agent installed on the end
nodes for gathering the performance data
Reporting available for all the DC servers where the agent is installed
SHR for fetching Daily and weekly Reports of infrastructure(eg:Performance of CPU, MEMORY & Disk Space availability reports)

EMS Modules Application Diagnostics Tool

Application Diagnostics tool monitors application transaction
health in traditional, virtualized and cloud environments
allowing quick isolation and resolution of issues. It gives a
common tool to easily collaborate across the entire application
lifecycle and release higher-quality applications.
Application Diagnostics tool provides deep drill down into
transactions from the end user through the back end. And it
uniquely serves as a common tool set for pre-production and
production to diagnose application performance bottlenecks
quickly and improve quality.
Key Benefits:
Monitor application transactions and quickly identify application
bottlenecks
Automatically discover and aggregate transactions from user,
server, database and back end
Quickly perform root cause analysis by getting deep thread
information through the click of a button

EMS Modules Real User Monitor (RUM)

Real User Monitoring (RUM) software monitors application
performance and availability for all users at all locations all the
time on business critical application services.
Key Benefits:
Visibility into application end user experience - All users, All
locations, All the time on web and cloud.
Generate testing scripts based on real end user session data
Trace end user transactions across automatically discovered
application tiers to speed resolution
Combine end user experience and infrastructure performance
data into service level management
