Beauty
is the characteristic of a person,
place, object or idea that provides
a perceptual experience of
pleasure, meaning & satisfaction

Aesthetics examine what makes


something beautiful, sublime,
disgusting, funny, silly,
entertaining, pretentious,
harmonious, boring or tragic.

Judgment of aesthetics clearly rely


on our ability to discriminate at a
sensory level.
However, sensitivity to aesthetic
qualities can be well-groomed by
training the senses and the mind.

Aesthetics qualities can


only be appreciated if an
individual enjoys the
experience of it.

creation of objects, environment,
experiences which can be shared
with others.

A creative activity which


involves skill or expertness in
handling materials and
organizing them into a new
product or concept.

WORK OF ART:
A thing of beauty having aesthetic
value.
Obra maestra, provides
aesthetic values to the viewers.
It must have an artistic merit
or/and literary merit.

Best-selling - it is very popular in


its day, or is produced by an artist
who has done other very popular
piece.

body as a medium. An art
form that is moving from
one place to another.
Example: music, dance,
drama or theater

in two dimensional form
and stay in one place.
Something that we see and
hear.
Example: painting,

understandable, what you see

Abstract Art non-subject
matter, non-representational,
that we cannot understand on
the part of the listener.
