ABOUT BRAKE BY WIRE

A car equipped with brake by wire technology has

a small electric motor near the wheels that
generate the braking pressure. They are governed
by electronic control units connected to the brake
pedal that receive input from the drivers actions
and interpret that information into a series of
electronic instructions. These instructions are
then communicated through a miniature, real
time network connecting the entire braking
system.

Categories of brake by wire ;

1)

Electro hydraulic (EHB)

) This

system still use conventional hydraulic brake

calliper at each wheel, but pressure is applied by a
commputer controlled high pressure pump and actuator
solenoid.

) The

benefit for this type of this system are:

) Shorter braking and stoping distance.
) Optimized pedal feel.
) No pedal vibration when the system is braking in ABS
mode.

2) Electro-mechanical

There are no hydraulics whatsoever. Braking force is

generated at each wheel by a fully electronic calliper.
Inside is a small, but powerful electric motor that
pushes the pads against the rotor.
The benefits of electro-mechanical
Its eliminate brake fluid, hoses and lines, the need for
a high pressure pump at accumulator.
Provide improved braking safety by keeping three
brake operational short one calliper failed.
Being able to precisely control the amount of braking
force at each wheel electronically.

The Brake By Wire ;

EWB

operating voltage 12 V.
Have use integrated parking brake .
Dry brake system (no filling,no
bleeding)
Use plug and play calliper
Adjustable brake characteristics by
software.

OPERATION

The system a has a series of sensors that monitor

both the vehicles operations and the drivers
actions and automatically adapt the braking
performance to maintain safety. When the driver
applies pressure to the brake pedal, information
is electronically passed through the system, the
external situation is evaluated, and the brake
motors apply the correct amount of pressure to
the wheels. All of this happens in a split second
and without requiring action from any
mechanical parts.

COMPONENT
1. Electronic wedge calliper
2. Backup battery
3. Chassis controller
4. E-pedal.
5. Electronic brake park

1)

Electronic Wedge Brake

) The

calliper body slides over the

wedges, forcing the pads onto the
disc .

)Its

rotation helps pull the pad

onto the disc with even greater
force.

ELECTRONIC WEDGE CALLIPER

2) Electronic Brake Pedal

To

sent signal to ECU, then sent

signal to all 4 electronic calliper.

Pedal

feel simulator and sensors

for monitoring driver settings.

ELECTRONIC PEDAL

3) Electronic Brake Parking

The

primary purpose of which,

is to ensure that the driver has
total confidence in the ability of
parking brake to hold the car
securely on any incline
regardless of the total load being
carried by the vehicle.

ELECTRONIC BRAKE
PARKING

4) Chassis Controller
To improve vehicle safety
by giving the driver more
control during nonliner.
