aspect of the rural settlement.
To learn about the social and physical infrastructure of
the village and identify the issues of the village.
To give meaningful observations on planning and
development of the area.
SCOPE OF WORK FOR REVIEW 1: Visual Survey ,
Socio- Economic survey, Data Collection and Analysis.

HISTORY OF VILLAGE:
Semaritala has predominantly an agricultural based
economy. It is situated in the eastern part of Madhya
Pradesh. Approx. 500 yrs back in India when there was
rule of Mughals all over then, at the time of conflict
DELHI SULTANATE forced Rajput Confederacy and
Gujrat people to move towards Malwa Region. So people
from rajut kingdom and gujrat started migrating towards
malwa and started agriculture in this area. This is how
SEMARITALA village grew and therefore Patels and
Chaudhary have hold in this area as they were the first
settlers here.

ISSUES OF SEMRITALA VILAGE:


1. Lack of metalled roads in the village. Almost all roads within the village are nonmetalled.
2. Lack of educational facilities. The school located in the village is upto primary only.
3. Lack of recreational facilities.
4. Lack of health services in the village. There is not even one primary health centre
in the village.
5. There is no regular supply of electricity in the village.
6.
Lack of sanitation facilities in the village. There is no private toilets in the house
of
lower category.
7. Issue of water supply. The no. Of hand pumps in the village are not sufficient and
are in
degraded condition.
8. There is no alternate occupation available to the people if they are not involved in
farming or
in labour.
9. Issue of lack of Government Help available to the people of weaker section.
10.There is no proper maintainance of the government hand pumps in the village.
11.Issue of lack of availability of fuel for cooking purpose.
12.The village is flood vulnerable.
13.Lack of availability of milk to the weaker section.
14.Issue of transport facilities in the village. There is lack in proper amount of public
transport
availability.
15.Poor physical condition of settlement: sewerage and sanitation.
