What is Home Automation?

Home automation involves introducing a degree of
computerized or automatic control to certain
electrical and electronics system in a building.
These lighting, temperature control, etc.., this paper

contains a remote mobile host controller and several
client module (home appliances).
The client modules communicate with host
controllers through a wireless device such as a

GSM Module:
A GSM Module is basically a
GSM Modem (like SIM 900)
connected to a PCB with
different types of output taken
from the board.
The board will also have pins
or provisions to attach mic and
speaker, to take out +5V or
other values of power and
ground connections.
It is powered directly from a
standard 3V coin cell battery
or a pair of AAA batteries.

Arduino Module:

Working :
It uses Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller and GSM
Module.
Data from surroundings received via sensors.
Data will then be processed and information retrieved
according to code.
Commands can be directly given to home appliances
and fans, lights so on accordingly.
In case of any security based information, an Alert!
Message can be send to saved contact no. also.
It also uses Relay as a switch to communicate with
high 240V based appliances.
