Originated from a Latin word communis,


meaning common

So when we communicate, we try to


establish a commonality with another
person

Communication at different levels is

History of Communication

It dates back to the pre-history


(mans birth)

Initially the use of non-verbal


communication (use of signals,
symbols or expressions etc.)

As the time goes on man


developed the sense of language
(use of verbal communication)

Written communication was


initiated about 5000 decades ago
when the alphabets were
introduced by Phoenicians (Syria,
Lebanon and Northern Israel)

best ways for informal communication and
started its own messenger services

most widely used in corporate offices

G-talk and MSN messengers are commonly


used free messengers

A teleconference is a telephonic meeting


among two or more participants

More sophisticated than a simple two-way


phone connection

At its simplest, a teleconference can be an


audio conference with one or both ends of the
conference sharing a speaker phone.

A number of improvements have occurred with introduction of technology

Companies try to compete in the global economy

They are always looking for better ways to communicate and technology
which provides business with faster, more efficient equipment for every
aspect of communication

Technology such as training via simulation reduces wear and


tear on equipment and improves time to efficiency

The use of technology for instruction and communication can


increase an organizations ability to share information quickly

Indirect communication can result in


misunderstandings

Challenges for synchronous communication include


reaching people in different time zones

Technology and support costs can be significant


depending on the skills of the individuals who will be
participating

Copyright questions can arise as to who owns the


materials you create, and permission to use others
work

Technology problems can interrupt communication

Some of the other problems related to the use of


technology are

Hacking

Identity theft

Viruses

Fraud etc.

Summary

With the passage of time, as man learned more and


more about its surroundings and needs, the need of
communication became more and more necessary and
the mode of communication developed by a number of
different ways as from non-verbal to verbal then
written and at the end the use of technology
became important for the Communication.

As everything in the world has pros and cons so do


the technology but at the final stage we see that
the negative points of the technology depends on
its use. If the technology is being used for the
positive purposes it can never be harmful. The
negative impacts are just due to the nature of human.

At the end we see that with the use of technology we


can save both our time and money in an effective
way. The detailed analysis shows that the negative
points of the use of technology can easily be covered
by the positive points.
