CHOICES

Today I want to share about four

important choices that we need
to continually make to live a
blessed and successful life
Continual choices become habits
and form our character
Good or Bad

1) Respecting our
parents
The Apostle Paul wrote,
Children, obey your parents in the
Lord for this right. Honour your
father and mother, which is the first
commandment with promise: that it
may be well with you and you may live
long on the earth. (Ephesians 6:1-2)

When we honour our

parents
-

We see Gods ongoing blessing and favour in

our life (We position ourselves to succeed in
life)

We have the promise of a long life.

Respecting our parents helps us to keep
under their covering, which helps to keep us
safe from the attacks of the enemy (the
devil)

2) Continually loving
others
Jesus Himself said, And you shall love
the LORD your God with all your heart, with
all your soul, with all your mind, and with all
your
strength.
This
is
the
first
commandment. (Mark 12:30)
And the second, like it, is this: You shall
love your neighbour as yourself. There
is no other commandment greater than
these. (Mark 12:31)

Loving others is a key to

making many friends in
life
In the book of Proverbs we read,
A man who has friends must himself
be friendly (Proverbs 18:24)

3) Continually putting
Jesus first in our life
Living for God

Jesus Himself said, Therefore do not

worry, saying, What shall we eat? Or
What shall we drink? or What shall we
wear? For after all these things the
Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father
knows that you need all these things. But
seek first the kingdom of God and His
righteousness, and all these things shall
be added to you. (Matthew 6:31-33)

our life
God has a unique plan for
The Apostleour
Paul life
wrote,
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good
works,
which
God
prepared
beforehand that we should walk in
them. (Ephesians 2:10)

God will help us to live a

life greater than we could
ever image if we allow Him
to direct our steps in life
The Apostle Paul wrote, Now to Him who
is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according
to the power that works in us.
(Ephesians 3:20)

If we continually allow the

Lord to direct our lives He
will help us to do great
things for His glory
In the book of Proverbs we read, Trust
in the LORD with all your heart, And lean
not on your own understanding; In all
your ways acknowledge Him, And He
shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)

4) The importance of
praying to God
The Apostle Paul wrote,
Rejoice always, pray without
ceasing, In everything give thanks;
for this is the will of God in Christ
Jesus for you.
(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

The Apostle Paul also wrote,

Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be
made known to God; and the peace of
God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Gods ways are higher than

our ways
If we need wisdom we can
ask God for help and
In the bookguidance
of James we read,
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask
of God, who gives to all liberally and
without reproach, and it will be given to
him. (James 1:5)

PRAYER HELPS US TO
- To maintain peace in our lives when
going through trials
- To make right choices in life
- To tell God what we need in life. God
promises to meet our every need in
life, and
-

To get to know God in an intimate

way

PRAYER HELPS US TO BE
SUCCESSFUL IN LIFE AS WE
LEARN TO INVOLVE GOD IN
ALL THAT WE DO IN LIFE

So four important choices

to continually make in life
to be all that God has
planned for your life are
1) Respecting our parents
2) Continually loving others
3) Continually putting Jesus first in
our life Living for God, and
4) The importance of praying to
God

I will finish with a prayer for all

of us to pray
Father God today I confess that I have sinned
against You. Today I choose to repent of my sins
and to follow Your plan for my life. I believe that
Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty
for all of my sins and that He arose from the
dead three days later. Today I invite You Jesus
Christ to come into my heart and life to be my
Lord and Saviour and best friend from this day
on. Amen
