VS SIMPLE PAST

In Spanish, the present perfect tense is formed by using the
present tense of the auxiliary verb "Haber" with the past participle.
EXAMPLES:
* Case a or case 1:
How long have you worked here?
I haven't seen Sylvia for several years.
Case b or case 2:
I'm afraid I have forgotten your name.
The secretary has decided to look for a new job.

A) I've worked here for twelve months
B) I've worked here since January
SIMPLE PAST
The simple past is very easy to use because you
only need the past of the verb and the grammatical
rules of this verbs because you use irregular verbs or
regulars verbs when you use regular verbs you use
the termination ED but when do you use irregular
verbs you need the past simple of this.
IRREGULAR VERBS
Be = WAS ( I, HE,SHE,IT) But you use WERE for
(you,we,they).
Do = Did
Have = Had
Cut = Cut
Cost = Cost
PRESENT PERFECT VS
PAST SIMPLE
Simple Past is used for actions that have ended in the
past, even if they have occurred in the recent past .
With perfect this action is related to the present.
EXAMPLE
Ann has lived (live) in Birmingham all her life. Yesterday when Ann was (be)
on her way to the train station, it began (begin) to rain. She ran (run) back to get
her umbrella, but this made (make) her late for her train. When she got (get) to
the station, she asked (ask) a woman on the platform: "How long have you
been (be) here, Madam?" "Not long, the train to London has just left (leave), I'm
afraid. When Ann arrived (arrive) at the office, her boss looked (look) at her
and said (say): "You have been (be) late every morning this week. What has
happened (happen) this time?" "I have missed (miss) my train."
