The essence of philosophy

Is that a man should so live that his happiness shall depend
as little as possible on external things.

I. Philosophy is the foundation of humanity

Greek philosophers says that Man is a rational being. The
essence of humanity lies in mans use of his reason. Where
there is reason, the philosophy is and there man is. Hence the
very foundation of man is philosophy.

II. Philosophy is the origin of mans activities and

achievements
Whatever man does started first and foremost from mans
mind. Action starts first from thought. Whatever man achieves
started first and foremost from mans imagination. Man can

III.Philosophy discovers the truth

The basic aim of philosophy is to arrive at the truth,
to attain the life, and to acquire knowledge. The truth
makes the heart man long for something. Unless it is
attained and, mans life becomes miserable.

IV.Philosophy discovers mans identity

Reflection and the process of philosophizing leads a
thinker back to his own self. The self is the very core of

Philosophy and Theology

Philosophy and Theology brings together some of
the most important approaches to understanding and
assessing the intellectual claims of religion.

The study of Philosophy

Develops analytical rigour and the ability to criticise and
reason logically. It allows you to apply these skills to many
contemporary and historical schools of thought and
individual thinkers, and to questions ranging from how we
acquire knowledge and form moral judgements to central
questions in the philosophy of religion, including the
existence and nature of God and the relevance of religion
to human life.
The noun philosophy means the study of proper
behavior, and the search for wisdom.

The study of Theology

Provides an understanding of the intellectual
underpinning of religious traditions, and of the social and
cultural contexts for religious belief and practice. It brings
together a wide range of skills and disciplines, historical,
textual, linguistic, sociological, literary-critical and
philosophical.
Theology is the systematic and rational study of
concepts of God and of the nature of religious ideas
