American, Hispanic American, Asian American and
Native American).
• One of 38 regional affiliate councils of the National
Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc.
NMSDC links over 15,000 MBEs and over 3,500
corporate members.

Chicago Business Opportunity Fair
(CBOF)
• Now in its 43rd successful year, CBOF presented
annually includes a trade fair, workshops and
various networking events
• CBOF draws nationally over 3800 corporate and
government buyers and MBEs that exhibit and
network over three days
• Targeted workshops are presented for both MBEs
and large buying organizations focused on supplier
diversity training and supplier development

• CMSDC maintains an internet based database


with over 1,100 certified MBEs
• Large corporate and government buyers rely
on this database to support their supplier
diversity programs and access quality

• CMSDC operates a nationally-recognized


ownership verification program replicated by
37 regional councils throughout the nation.
• Services are utilized by both corporate and
government in support of their supplier

Networking Opportunities
Procurement Luncheons

• Beginning in January 2006, Procurement


Luncheons have been held monthly at a
restaurant near the loop.
• Each Procurement Luncheon will feature a
Member Corporation as the speaker to discuss
opportunities within their organizations and
how MBEs can be included.

(MBOC)
• CMSDC operates this program. Its mission and
goal is to increase opportunities for MBEs to
gain procurement contracts from corporations
and government agencies, obtain capital, and
enhance management skills.

Professional Development

• Corporate Bridges is a program which provides


training to MBEs in the areas of marketing,
management, finance and other business curriculum

• CMSDC co-sponsors executive training programs for


MBEs with Kellogg Graduate School of Business at
Northwestern University and Amos Tuck Graduate
School of Business at Dartmouth University

Access to Capital

• Business Consortium Fund (BCF) is a loan


fund that provides working capital to MBEs
holding contracts with CMSDC corporate
