The basic design of double cone mixer includes the main body of mixers
consists of two conical shaped sections, commonly with 45 degree slope,
which are finely welded at their bases to a big central cylindrical section. The
axis of rotation is at right angles to cone axis & also passes through
cylindrical section. The driving motor is placed in one of the two sideways
supports holding main mixer body.
This mixer has two types of finishes i.e. inlet and outlet. Loading orifice
serves as an inlet through which solids are loaded into the mixer. As an
outlet there is a hermetic closing butterfly valve through which discharge as
well as cleaning done. Mixing takes place in axial direction & as a result of
the material moving through the different sections.
Further mixing is resulting into very fine homogenous mixture and obviously
the speed of rotation required to take into consideration. Speed of axis of
rotation is achieved due to the use of worm type of gearbox and speed
variation is achieved with the use of sensor less variable frequency control
drive. Finally, harmonized solid mixture is discharged through a hermetically
closing butterfly valve which can be operated manually or automatically.
This mixer has a single or double shaft with adjustable mixing paddles.
Manually operated butter fly valve at one end of the cone provided for
material discharge.
Safety guards made from SS304 pipes provided in front of the m/c
with limit switch.
All safety guards & covers made out of SS304 in GMP Model.

There are various factors which are required to take into consideration
while designing the mixer So it is quite pertinent to have that information.
First and foremost Properties of materials being mixed are one of the most
important factors affecting mixing operation. Each ingredient in a mixture
has distinctive physical & chemical characteristics that contribute to the
properties of the resultant mixture.
