Operation descriptions
1.Internal OP-Amp + base potential of ICM803 is 2.5V and external - input potential is connected with PRS34and PRS35 to maintain
Vout of 4.4V.
2.If load of 4.4V terminal increase (or AC input voltage decrease) and Vout decrease over 4.4V, Then : ICM803 R potential decrease
over 2.5V -->ICM803 A-K BASE Current decrease --> ICM803 A-K Current decrease --> PICS1 DIODE Current decrease --> PICS1 CE Current decrease --> PICS1 C-E Voltage increase --> PICS1 F-B Voltage increase --> OUT DUTY increase TRANS Primary Cuttent
Increase --> TRANS Primary Power increase --> Vout increase --> Vout maintain 4.4V
- PRD31, PRD32 : Reduce 4.4V overshoot.
- PRS32, PCS32 : Prevent ICM803 oscillation (for phase correction).

1-3-1 Outline
Media Tek MT1389J is a cost-effective DVD system on chip (SOC) which incorporates advanced features like
MPEG-4 video recorder, high quality TV encoder and state of art deinterlace processing. The Media tek MT1389J
Enables consumer electronics manufactures to build high quality , USB2.0,MS/SD/MMC reader, feature rich DVD
Player, portable DVD players or any other home entertainment audio/video/devices.
Based on media Teks world leading DVD player SOC architecture, the MT1389J is the new generation of the
DVD player SOC. It integrates the media tek 3rd generation front en digital RF amplifier and the servo/MPEG AV
decoder. To enrich the feature of DVD PLAYER, the MT1389J equips a simplified MPEG-4 advanced simple
profile (ASP) video recorder to fully support the DivX1 Home Theater profile. The Progressive scan of the
MT1389J utilized advanced motion adaptive de interlace algorithm to achieve the best movie/video playback. It
also support a 3:2 pull down algorithm to give the best film effect. The 108MHz/12-bit video DAC provides users
a whole new viewing experience.
Focusing SERVO
The focus loop is changed from open loop to closed loop, and the triangular waveform moves the object lens up
and down (at pin 17 of MIC1 during Focus SERVO ON.) at that time, S curve is generated in MIC1.
Summing signal of PD A,B,C,D, is generated, and zero cross (1.65V) point occurs when S curve is focused and
ABCD signal exceeds a preset, constant value. The focus loop is changed to closed loop, and the object lens follows
the disc movement, maintaining a constant distance from the disc. (these operations are same in CD and DVD).
