Automatic placement of parts into and from designated places within the
warehouse

Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV):

Electronically guided and controlled cart used to move material

Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS):

A system using automated work cells controlled by electronic signals from a


central computer

Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM):

A manufacturing system in which CAD, FMS, Inventory Control, warehousing


and shipping are integrated.
