CHILD BIRTH
Child-birth is a natural process that will be faced
by every expectant mother. Generally, there are
three stages of labor (the pain that the expectant
mother will have to face before, during and after
the proses or child-birth).
During the first stage of labor I, the uterus will
experience series of contractions.
The first stage of labor II, is the breaking of the
membrane wall, which will be accompanied by
the discharge of the fluid inside it.
During the second stage of labor, the foetus will
be pushed out of the uterus into the birth canal
and out into his new world.
At the third stage of labor, the placenta, together
with the umbilical cord, will be expelled from the
uterus.

In The Womb

Um feto de poucas semanas encontra-se

no interior do tero de sua me.

An embryo of few weeks inside his mothers womb.

It is in the beginning of his

development.

There is a long road ahead.

It is the first step of human development and at this

stage he can be confused with other embryos.

He is connected to the vitelino bag that provides the nutrients

that he needs in the first weeks of life.

After about 8 weeks of gestation the vitelino bag loses its function.

The umbilical cord then starts to feed him with

nutrients provided from the mothers body.

While everything happens, he floats, calmly, in the uterus of his mother.

In 16th week of gestation he already

has developed the limbs.

The eyes are still closed, but the hands and the feet start to move
themselves, even though his mother does not perceive him yet.

At 24 weeks, only the lungs are not completely formed.

if he was born at this moment, he would have a good chance of survival.

At this stage he already moves the arms and the legs,

he blinks the eyes, and he sucks the fingers

He is becoming conscientious of the

space that surrounds him.

As with all embryos, he passes most of the time sleeping

He even d r e a m s

Complete at nine months and he is ready to be born.

In 40 weeks, what was one cell was changed into a human being.

The miracle of the formation of the life of a human

being in the womb is almost finished

In few days the lungs and the placenta will be put in charge
to signal that the hour of the childbirth has arrived.

The baby still sleeps, calm, in the womb of his mother.

He does not know that soon he will abandon the placidness of his "house"
to pass through one of the most traumatic experiences of his life: the birth.

Yes, because the childbirth is not

painful only for the mother.

It is also traumatic and stressful for the baby.

What is happening is the
