THREE WARS, MANY REASONS TO

HAPPEN

Political and Economical Reasons:

WW II: Hitler wanted to dominate Europe (invasion of Poland

in 1939) and to gain control of the agrarian resources to the
east of Germany.

GULF WAR: Iraqs leader,Saddam Hussein ordered the

invasion and occupation ofKuwaiton the grounds that
Kuwait was part of Iraq, had the nations large oil reserves,
and had intentionally depressed the world oil prices.

o Social Reasons:
WW II: the violation of the Treaty of Versailles that
ended WWI caused tension between the people and the
government; the Treaty made Germany the only ones at
fault for the war. The population of Germany were
desperate for revenge, and Hitler was right there to lead
the people to it.

Ideologies, doctrines and philosophies:

WWII: the fear of a violentCommunistrevolution; racism and

ethnocentrism: Hitler's idea of the superiority of the "pure"
German race; fascism as a form of government (Italy:
Mussolini)

VIETNAM WAR: the struggle between nationalist forces

attempting to unify the country of Vietnam under a
communist government and the United States with the aid of
the South Vietnamese attempting to prevent the spread of
communism all over south-east Asia (DOMINO THEORY)

THE OUTCOMES

POLITICAL AND ECONOMICAL CONSEQUENCES :

World War II:

End of Imperial Rule

France and England were forced to dismantle their colonial
empires,
Decolonization in Africa and Asia,
Nazi leaders were tried for Crimes against Humanity at
Nuremberg,
Japan under U.S military rule.
One Country, Two systems: Germany was divided into Eastern
Germany, under a Communist system and Western Germany,
on the hands of the Capitalist system.

the rise of the US to superpower status and the expansion of the

Soviet Union: the economy of the USA was stimulated by the
war.

Vietnam War:

South Vietnamese regime collapsed and Vietnam was united,

Gulf War:

Kuwait became poor:

losses in military equipment and its infrastructure as well,
cleaning up the oil slicks, which cost about $ 700 million to
clean.
U.S. and British aircraft continued to patrol skies and
ordered a no-fly zone over Iraq
It restored American confidence in its position as the worlds
superpower
Health problems
Contamination of water due to oils spills

SOCIAL CONSEQUENCES:

Beginning of Nuclear Age: WW II: bombing of Hiroshima and

Nagasaki

Beginning of Chemical wars: Vietnam war: American use of

chemical warfare.

Health problems: contaminated water due to oil spills; air

polluted with gases, rural areas polluted too. (Vietnam war,
Gulf war)

Lots of civilians died: WW II, Vietnam War and Gulf War.

Emigration of people after the wars

The rise of nationalism and independence movements in

America, Asia and Africa.
