Intrapersonal Intelligence
taking place or existing within the mind.
http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/intrapersonal

Intrapersonal skills initiate an appropriate reaction and

attitude because of positive internal dialogue,
occurring within the mind.
Is the growth within yourself that is having an
understanding of yourself, of knowing who you are and
what you can do.
Students intrapersonal development can be enhanced
by using songs and poetry that would inspire the
students to develop and believe in their abilities.

A good intrapersonal child:

sets goals and develops/uses
strategic plans;
is highly self-motivated and
proactive;
positive decision making;
monitors strategies, performance,
and cognition; and
frequently participates in selfreflection and analysis.

It Couldnt Be Done
BY EDGAR ALBERT GUEST

Somebody said that it couldnt be done

But he with a chuckle replied
That maybe it couldnt, but he would
be one
Who wouldnt say so till hed tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of
a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the
thing
That couldnt be done, and he did
it!
Somebody scoffed: Oh, youll never
do that;
At least no one ever has done it;
But he took off his coat and he took off
his hat
And the first thing we knew hed
begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,

There are thousands to tell you it cannot

be done,
There are thousands to prophesy
failure,
There are thousands to point out to you
one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the
thing
That cannot be done, and youll do
it.

The climb
I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my
head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

Ain't about how fast I get there

Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

There's always gonna be another

mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it
move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to
lose

"Don't Worry, Be Happy"

Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
**Ooh, ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh
ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Don't worry)
Ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Be happy)
Ooh oo-ooh oo-ooh
Ooh, ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh ooh oo-ooh
ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Don't worry)
Ooh oo-ooh ooh ooh oo-ooh
(Be happy)
Ooh oo-ooh oo-ooh
(Don't worry, be happy)*

Ain't got no place to lay your head

Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
(Look at me I am happy)
**
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
'Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now

Here the teacher can organize a few activities in order to inspire the
students abilities:
Identify the moral values in the poem and song. Students asked to
write down what values that the poem and song has inspired them.
Make a small lovely card and write what is their feeling towards their
loved one.
For students in higher standard, teacher can ask them to write a
letter for themselves so to be motivate in future.
Teacher can suggest the students to write their diary everyday in a
small cute booklet in order to monitor their everyday performance.
Students might present their feedback or share their experiences
towards the poem and songs content. Teacher may comment to their
presentation and add in some values to enhance their intrapersonal
development
The teacher offers a choice of projects, such as retelling their feelings
once they have read a poem or lyrics so to increase their confidence in
speaking.

The Family
Song

The Friendship
Songs
I want
to be the smile
I want to see the change
I want to be your friend from the
start
And once it starts, it never ends
I want to be your pal, I want to be
around
I want to be your friend when you
are down
I want to be the sunshine
On your smiling face
I want to be the moon
No, I want to be ocean
Where all we do is float under the
sun
On the rolling sea
Oh, I want to be the sunshine
No, I want to be the moonshine
I want to be the night time lullaby
When you're so afraid

And I think I found a way

To put a smile on your lonely face
I think I found a way
A way to break down all the walls
I think I found a way to say
I think I found a way to say hello
I think I found a way
Without saying anything at all
And I think I found a way
To put a smile on your lonely face
I think I found a way
A way to break down all the walls
I think I found a way to say
I think I found a way to say hello
I think I found a way
Without saying anything at all

The Family Song

Ive got a mother a father
A sister and a brother
Grandma and grandpa
And we all love each other
This is my, this is my, this is my family.
Ive got an uncle named Jimmy
and an aunt named Jane
And a cousin named Jenny
Who flies a plane.

Here the teacher can get the

students to act out or role play as
they sing the song.
When the students are working in
a group, they learn how to
communicate, respect as well as to
help each other.
They also learn how to socialize
and negotiate with their friends.
