TEXTILE TESTING
PRESENTATION
USTER TANSORAPID
BY: MR. PRITPAL SINGH (NIT JALANDHAR)

WHAT IS USTER TANSORAPID

(UTR)?

The USTER TENSORAPID is the most versatile instrument of its

type in the market, able to meet all strength testing
requirements for both staple and filament yarns.

It is a standard equipment for measuring tensile properties, with

universal capability for all the strength and elongation tests
required by the textile industry.

Offers automatic and precise information on yarn strength,

elongation and tenacity.

the USTER TENSORAPID can provide analysis data on mean

values and coefficients of variation of tested material.

Quality monitoring is done by comparing to standard test

methods such as those of ISO, ASTM and Chinese authorities.

it can test virtually all staple and filament yarns, as well as slivers
and fabric strips, regardless of count or composition.

Two models are available: with 500 N measuring head for

standard material or 1 500 N for special functions such as fabric
tests.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR TENSORAPID TEST

A measurement must be performed according the CRE principle

Testing speed must be exactly 5 m/min.

The gauge length or the clamp to clamp distance should be 50

mm.

The pretension should be 0.5 cn / tex.

MAIN PARTS OF TENSORAPID

i) Clamping device 0.01- 500 N:

It is recommended for staple fibre yarns, filament yarns

(elastomeric yarn on request), ply yarn and the fibre assemblies.

(ii) Clamping device 1500 N:

It is recommended for the staple fibre yarns and filament yarns

coarser than 20 tex, ply yarns, technical yarns, skeins and fabric
strips.

(iii) Plate tensioner & Rolling-off arrangement:

Clamping device 500 N and rolling-off arrangement for the

transportation of the yarn between the individual tests.

2) YARN CHANGER:

Device for the automatic changing of the yarn taken from up to

the 40 packages; manual operation for single measurements is
possible.

3) PACKAGE TRUNK:

Package trunk for creeling and transporting of up to 24 yarn packages (with separate
extension set for up to 40 yarn packages).

4) PACKAGE CREEL/TENSIONER CARRIER:

Creel with tensioner carrier for creeling up to 40 yarn packages. For measurements on
packages where yarn is taken directly from the package trunks without thread tensioners,
the tensioner carriers are also attached

5) OPERATING UNIT

Measurement of strength and elongation of a extensive range of yarns and fabrics.

Collection, evaluation and storage of measurements and diagrams.

Automatic check of all the measured values.

Yarn classification based on the uster statistics.

Preparation of long-term reports

Clamp position may be of two types

1. Horizontal

2. Vertical

With horizontal position of clamps continuously adjustable between 200 and 1000 mm.

With vertical position of clamps continuously adjustable between 100 and 1000 mm.

RESULT ANALYSIS

The tester offers countless test and evaluation possibilities, covering all
the known tensile values

it includes measuring programs for force - elongation curves, hysteresis

curves and fatigue measurements.

Spectrograms and scatter plots help identify periodic faults.

Results from the USTER TENSORAPID integrate with USTER STATISTICS

the only accepted benchmarking standards in textile production and
trading.
