Implementation of the Colleges Mission-Vision

Statement and Observation of its Core Values/Squares


of learning and Mantra.
Each faculty member is expected to exert effort to
integrate the Colleges vision-mission and its core values in
the content of subject instructional plan and instructional
materials, in teaching the students, in his/her professional
relationship with his/her colleagues and in the performance
of other assigned functions.

B. Teaching
Each faculty member performs its primary function of teaching as
an act of facilitating the acquisition of knowledge and skills geared
toward the development of HOTS.
It also include specific tasks such as student consultation and
academic advising.

C. Research
Each faculty member is encouraged to take initiative to conduct
research undertakings in their own field in order to be updated in the
latest trends in teaching.

D. Professional Growth and Development
Each faculty is obliged to continuously develop his/her theoretical
and pedagogical knowledge and professional and technical skills
through

internal

and

external

seminar-workshops

and

training

programs. A faculty who is not yet in possession of masters degree or


doctorate in the field s/he is teaching is urged to earn his/her masters
or doctorate degree.
Each faculty has equal opportunity to handle administrative
position such as dean/academic coordinator, cluster head, course
adviser and head of other offices/departments.

E. Community Service
Each faculty member is expected to participate in the community
outreach programs of the College and the department.
F. Other Institutional Services
Each faculty member may serve other functions related to
academic services such as enrolment, marketing, commencement
exercises committees, exhibits, etc.

A. Punctuality and Class Attendance
Each faculty member is expected to be punctual in attendance at
all times in his/her scheduled classes throughout the school year. In
case of his/her absence is inevitable, s/he should observe the
administrative and faculty leave policy.
B. Student Consultation
Each faculty member must provide sufficient student consultation
hours (at least five hours a week) known by the student.

C. Substitution/Make-up Classes
Each faculty member is expected to do substitution as instructed
by the cluster head/subject adviser in case certain faculty member is
absent in the class.
D. Preparation of Subject Instructional Plan/Course Outline
Each faculty member may be assigned to prepare and update
instructional plan before the start of the semester and must provide the
students a copy of the subject or course outline duly approved by the
Office of Academic Affairs during the class orientation.

E. Preparation and Administration of Major Examination.
Each faculty member should prepare and submit test questions in a
selection type format of at least 70 items in prescribed excel template every
term at least two (2) weeks before the scheduled examination.
F. Classroom Management.
Each faculty member must see to it that the classroom is conducive
for learning. He/she must be prepared for every class discussion. All
teaching materials such as SIP, textbook, board markers, whiteboard
erasers, class record and the like must always be available.

G. Classroom Discipline
Each faculty member must strictly ensure that all students are
wearing school uniform and ID card. She must also see to it that all the
students in his/her class adhere to the school policies stipulated in the
Students Handbook. Likewise, no teacher shall leave his/her class
except for a very serious reason without the permission from the cluster
head.
H. Library Acquisition
Faculty member may suggest to the Library Department titles of
books to be purchased within his/her field of specialization.

I.

Observance of Administrative Duty


Each faculty member must:
- wear his/her ID card inside the campus while at work
- submit the documents required by the College and department on or
before the given deadline.
- project a dignified personality by wearing the prescribed office attire
- submit an accurate, updated and duly approved individual Faculty
Loading form on or before the opening of class and/or before the cutoff time.
- keep and update a faculty profile in the Office of Academic Affairs
- comply with the other requirements as may be assigned by the OAA
and his/her department.

Each faculty member is expected to:
- be updated with the latest announcements, memoranda and other
important messages concerning him/her.
- be familiar with the contents of the NCST Employees Manual and
Student Handbook.
J. Attendance in Faculty Meetings and Activities
Each faculty member must attend the orientation sessions conducted by
the

College officials.

Likewise,

s/he must

attend

institutional and

departmental functions. However, in the event that the faculty member


cannot attend such academic functions, s/he has to obtain permission from
academic affairs coordinator and / or cluster head.

K. English Campaign
Each faculty member must use the English language as a medium of
communication and instruction and transaction except in the Filipino
subject/s.
L. Student Performance Evaluation and Grading
Each faculty member must:
- submit the prepared test questionnaire, class record and grade sheets,
every term on the given deadline.
- strictly follow the scheduled major examination.
- strictly follow the existing Student Examination Policy.

Each faculty member must:
- strictly follow the Grading System and use the prescribed
transmutation table, attendance sheet and grade sheets.
- follow the scheduled encoding of grades.
- discuss the result of examination and computed grades with the
students prior to encoding into the SAS.
M. Giving Student Projects and Assignments
Each faculty member should give students assignments and projects
that stimulate independent thinking on the part of the students, develop
particular skills and interest in and appreciation of the subject. S/he is
encouraged to promote research among his/her students by assigning them
one research paper every end of the semester.

N. Educational Tours and Other Out-of-Campus Activities
Educational field trips and other out-of-class activities are encouraged
as forms of learning experiences of students provided that the guidelines
and procedures are observed/followed in securing permit to conduct such
activities.
O. Emergency Situation
In case of emergency such as earthquake or fire, the instructor must
facilitate orderly flow of students towards fire/emergency exit .

P. Care for the School Property
Each faculty member must cooperate in securing college property and
in the care and up keep of the building and campus.

Q. Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers


Each faculty member should adhere to a set of principles, which defines
the personal and professional conduct becoming of a faculty member.
