This

is Susana Martinez, NM
Governor since 2010.

Since

her election, New

Mexico has implemented new
laws which: Create an A-F
School Grading system,
approve and fund a huge
Pearson-connected virtual
charter, increase standardized
testing dramatically, and
overhaul teacher evaluations.

During the campaign, we cant say it, I
guess, because its education, but I really
keep going back to that . . . keeping the
teachers from feeling the pain when they
already dont work, you know, two and a
half months out of the year or three
months out of the year but earn salaries
at the same rate of people who do work

Who Stands in Their

Way?
Where

we spend our
money matters:

The Waltons have long supported efforts to privatize education

through the Walton Family Foundation as well as individual
political donations to local candidates. Since 2005, the Waltons
have given more than $1 billion to organizations and
candidates who support privatization. They've channeled
the funds to the pro-charter and pro-voucher Milton Friedman
Foundation for Education Choice, Michelle Rhee's proprivatization and high-stakes testing organization Students First,
and the pro-voucher Alliance for School Choice, where Walton
family member Carrie Walton Penner sits on the board. Peter
Dreier, Professor of Politics at Occidental College

Who Stands in Their

Way?
We

will never have the money of the

Koch brothers or the Waltons, but we
have family, friends and neighbors
who want their child to have a
quality education.

They

are attacking globally. We have

to fight back locally!
