What is Schengen Visa

Allows the holder to travel freely in 25 European
Countries Known as Schengen Space

The Name SCHENGEN originates from small

town in Luxemburg. Where in June 1985 initially
seven European Union countries signed a treaty
(Schengen Agreement) to end internal border,
checkpoint & controls.

prior to trip. Each consulate runs it's visa department in it's own
way so processing times vary, depending upon the nationality of
commuter

How to Read Schengen Visa

1) Valid For
Indicates the countries for which the visa is valid. May list only one country or "Etats Schengen"
which indicates the visa is valid for all Schengen countries.
2) From
Indicates the date on which the visa becomes valid. To the right is the date on which the visa is no
longer valid.
3) Number of Entries
Indicates how many times the visa holder may enter the Schengen area.
4) Issued In
Indicates where the visa was issued.
5) On
The date on which the visa was issued.
6) Type of Visa
Indicates the visa type.
7) Names
Indicates the name of the applicant.

Key Notes

During the processing time the passport has to remain with the
Consulate in Dubai.
The visa may take anywhere between 2 to 14 days to process
depending on the nationality of the applicant.
All Fees must be paid upon submission of the above in cash only.
There is no refund if the visa application is refused.
The Consulate reserves the right to ask for additional documents.
Applicants who have not had at least two Schengen visas in the
past two years will need to appear for an Interview at the
consulate with a prior appointment, which will be scheduled
during submission

If my visit involves two or more Schengen countries, where should I apply?

Application will be deposited in the Embassy of the country of your main destination
(longest stay). Only if there is no clear main destination (i.e. round trips through
Europe), the Embassy of the country of first entry is responsible for visa issuance.
How long Can I stay In Schengen?
it allows the holder to a total stay of up to 90 days, within a period of six months.
If I have multiple entry visa how long for it will be valid?
You may leave & return any number of times within the 180 days period.
Is it possible to bring maid along with family?
Yes Maid Can commute with you.
what should be my bank statement while applying for visa?
Schengen Visa Applicant must prove that Commuter have enough financial resources
during there stay, it can be calculated by average prices in the schengen country for
board & lodging in budget accommodation, multiplied by number of days. i.e for
Germany it could be 45/day + return air ticket.
What are the medical insurance requirements?
Travel coverage of at least Euro 30,000
