The Promise

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you
were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise Ep.1:13

The PROMISE of the Holy Spirit is one of the

most important subjects, if not THE most
important of all of the Bible.
A missing PERSONs report

Something is missing
This missing something is actually a missing
Someonenamely, the Holy Spirit.
We are called to live differently than the world,
with different results

Because of our misunderstandings, many are

in fear of the Holy Spirit
Some are just in the dark
Some are in the know but just off
We need to KNOW the PERSON and WORK of
the Holy Spirit

John 14: 19-26

A little while longer and the world will see Me no
more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live
also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father,
and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My
commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves
Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father,
and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. Judas
(not Iscariot) said to Him, Lord, how is it that You will
manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?

Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me,

he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and
We will come to him and make Our home with him. He
who does not love Me does not keep My words; and
the word which you hear is not Mine but the Fathers
who sent Me. These things I have spoken to you
while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will
teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all
things that I said to you.

Two ways to approach BIBLE

Exegesis: an attempt to discover the meaning
of the text objectively, starting with the text
and moving out from there. LINE UPON LINE
Eisegesis: to import a subjective,
preconceived meaning into the text.

We are going to study the Holy Spirit as He is

revealed in Scripture, for He is revealed from
Genesis to Revelation.
Genesis 1:1-2 In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth. The earth was without
form, and void; and darkness was on the face of
the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering
over the face of the waters

Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the

world His invisible attributes are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made,
even His eternal power and Godhead, so that
they are without excuse,

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the

Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2
He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things
were made through Him, and without Him
nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was
life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the
light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did
not comprehend it.

The Holy Spirt MOVED when the earth was

without form- (tohuw)confusion, waste,
desolate, nothing.
Void(bohuw) emptiness, void,
undistinguishable ruin
Darkness(chosek)night,obscurity, hence
darkness

God the Father spoke and the Holy Spirit

moved and carried out The Fathers Word.
NOTHING HAS CHANGED WETHER IT BE THEN
OR NOW IN YOUR OWN DARKNESS AND RUIN
AND EMPTINESS-GOD SPEAKS AND THE SPIRIT
MOVES!

Ephesians 2
And you He made alive, who were dead in
trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked
according to the course of this world, according
to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit
who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3
among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the
desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by
nature children of wrath, just as the others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love

with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in
trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by
grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up
together, and made us sit together in the heavenly
places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He
might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His
kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you
have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest
anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God
prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
