GREENHOUSE EFFECT

WHAT IS GREENHOUSE EFFECT?

The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal
radiation from a planetary surface is absorbed by
atmospheric greenhouse gases, and is re-radiated in
all directions.
Since part of this re-radiation is back towards the
surface and the lower atmosphere, it results in an
elevation of the average surface temperature above
what it would be in the absence of the gases.

CAUSE OF GREENHOUSE EFFECT?

Carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel
burning power plants
Carbon dioxide emissions from burning
gasoline for transportation
Methane emissions from animals, agriculture
such as rice paddies, and from Arctic seabeds

 Increase in usage of chemical fertilizers on

croplands
Deforestation, especially tropical forests for
wood, pulp, and farmland
Population Growth (needs)
Electrical Appliances (CFC)

FACTS ABOUT GREENHOUSE EFFECT

Increase of temperature on the earth by

about 3 to 5 C (5.4 to 9 Fahrenheit) by the
year 2100.

Rise of sea levels by at least 25 meters (82

feet) by the year 2100.

IMPACT TOWARDS EARTH

There are four major effects of global
warming:
Increase of temperature on the earth
melting of ice caps and glaciers.
a rise in sea levels, causing flooding to
low-lying areas.

 changes in the pattern of the climate and

winds(climate change)
Massive crop failures

WAYS TO OVERCOME (REDUCE) THIS

PHENOMENA
Basicly its very hard to overcome this phenomena. But we can
reduce the greenhouse effects by :
1.Car pool or find another way to travel in order to preserve
the earth's natural resources.
2.Reuse house hold items. That way our land fills don't fill so
quickly.
3.Compost your left over friut and vegetable parts. It can give
you rich soil and also reduces the amount that goes into the
landfills.

 4.Don't sit around the house waisting electricity

when you can be outdoors and playing in the sun.
5. Recycle your paper, beverage containers, milk
jugs, and tin cans so that they can be used to
make new material and so that we don't waiste
natural resources.
6. Plant Trees

Conclusion
The fact that greenhouse gas emissions from
human activities cause the Earth to heat up and
that this global warming changes the climate
cannot be altered.
Greenhouse effect cannot or probably hard to be
extinguished as the impacts of the industrialized
countries emissions of greenhouse gases will also
harm the developing countries.
But at least we can try to reduce it by doing all
the recommended list in the slide before.
