Conditional Sentences

Definition of Conditional Sentence
Conditional sentence is a complex sentence
(compound sentence) formed from the subordinate
clause that begins with a subordinate conjunction
"if" a condition and the main clause of a result /
consequence.
There are 4 types of conditional sentence
commonly used, namely: type 1, type 2, type 3, and
type 0. condition on the conditional sentence type 1
may be fulfilled, type 2 or almost impossible not
fulfilled, type 3 can not be met (unreal), while type 0
is always realized as a scientific fact / scientific
truth.
Definition of Conditional Sentences type 0
Zero conditional is a conditional sentence which is
used when the result / consequence of the
condition is always realized as a scientific fact
(scientific truth) or a general truth which is habitual
activity (habit). Part dependent clause (if + clause)
can be preceded by the word "if" or "when".
Conditional formula type 0 is as follows:
if / when + simple present, simple present
Example :
If I sleep late, I am sleepy at school. [habitual activity]
(Jika saya tidur terlambat, saya mengantuk di sekolah)
If you dry fruits or vegetables, they loss their nutrient and
calorie.
(Jika kamu mengeringkan buah atau sayuran, mereka
kehilangan nutrisi dan kalori.)
Definition of Conditional Sentence Type 1
Conditional sentence type 1 is used when the result
/ consequence of a condition are likely to
materialize in the future because of its realistic
condition to be met.
Formula Conditional Sentence Type 1 is as follows:
if + simple present, (will + bare infinitive)/imperative
Example
If I have free time, I will go swimming.
(Jika saya punya waktu luang, saya akan pergi berenang.)
If the bell rings, Ill go home.
(Jika bel berbunyi, saya akan pulang ke rumah.)

Definition of Conditional Sentence Type 2
Conditional sentence type 2 is used when the result
/ consequence of the condition have no or only little
chance to materialize because of his condition can
not be met in the present (present unreal situation)
or its condition is difficult to be met in the future
(unlikely to Happen).
The formula of conditional sentence type 2 are as
follows:
If + simple past, would/could/might + bare infinitive
Example
If it rained tomorrow, I would sleep all day.
(Jika besok hujan, saya akan tidur sepanjang hari.)
If Nisa studied hard, she would pass.
(Jika Nisa belajar keras, dia akan lulus.)
Definition of Conditional Sentence Type 3
Conditional sentence type 3 is used when the result
/ consequence of the condition, there is not likely to
happen because of his condition must have been
met in the past.
The formula of conditional sentence type 3
The formula of conditional sentence type 3
using the past tense to talk about something which
does not happen in the past.
if + past perfect, would/should/could/might have +
past participle
Example
If you had remembered to invite me, I would have
attended your party.
(Jika kamu ingat mengundang saya, saya akan hadir di
pestamu.)
If I give the correct answer exam time, I might have a
higher score than you
(Jika saya memberi jawaban yang benar saat ujian, saya
mungkin mendapatkan nilai yang lebih tinggi dari kamu.)
