C-27J
The C-27J is a very rugged, reliable and capable aircraft
Operational Capabilities
Interoperability: any type of dense military load can be transferred from heavier airlifters to the C-27J thanks to
its high floor strength (4,900 Kg/m) and transported or airdropped in hostile areas.
Interchangeability: the Spartan is also a valid alternative to heavier airlifters to transport the most (65%) of the
Typical Airborne Division Equipment at a lower cost.
Interoperable/Interchangeable with Heavier Military Airlifters
Operational Capabilities
Excellent performance in extreme temperature conditions
Hot weather trials performed in Saudi Arabia and UAE,
Sep 2001
Temperature conditions:
ISA+32 (43C) at Riyadh (2,000 ft elevation)
ISA+26 (41C) with 54C in cockpit at Abu Dhabi

ISA+26 T/O from Kamis Mushait airport (6,700 ft
elevation) at MTOW and simulated OEI climb
ISA+32 T/O from Riyadh airport (2,000 ft elevation) at
MTOW

Cold weather trials performed in Sweden, Jan 2002
Temperature conditions:
ISA -47 (-35 C) at Kiruna airport

No adverse effect in T/O and Landing on snowy runway

During all the trials an excellent response of aircraft
systems, avionics and performance has been obtained.

The C-27J is quailified to be operated in the range:
from -55 C to ISA + 35
