PLEs are not only personal
web tools and personal
learning networks. PLEs
are much wider than this,
taking in experiences and
realia, as well as learning
through TV, music, paper
based materials, radio &
more formal contexts.
Learning content is not as
important now as where
(or who) to connect to, to
find it.
PWTs are any web tools,
(usually Web 2.0) chosen
by learners to support
their lifelong learning.

Microlearning
Is characterised by relatively small learning
units and short-term learning activities,
simple ideas and learning tasks. In turn these
relate to micro- content and structures such as
blogs, and social bookmarks. The most common
denominator of microlearning studies seems
to the use of mobile devices, promoting
learning through interaction with micro--
content



Seamless Learning
learning wherever, whenever and whatever.
The aim to support continuous, fluid learning
experiences mainly driven by the learners desire
to inquire or to investigate. The concept of seamless
learning is to make the transitions between
different learning situations and contexts as
smooth as possible.


Gamification
The use of game elements in non-game systems to improve user experience has the
opportunity to transform how employees work inside the enterprise.
A badge (points &leaderboards) is simply a seal similar to what military personnel
receive for accomplishing objectives or receiving a promotion. The key is to tie it to
a real accomplishment, and then it has significant meaning and purpose.

Flipped Classroom
Flipped Classroom is not
a synonym for online
videos. And its not
about replacing teachers
with videos. Its the
combination of watching
videos at home and
applying what has been
learned during face-to--
face time, hence it can
be seen as a form of
blended learning


Collaborative Environments
Collaborative environments are online spaces often cloud-
based where the focus is on making it easy to collaborate and
work in groups towards the achievement of common goals, no
matter where the participants may be. Such environments
generally include sets of communication and conferencing tools
to facilitate the exchange of information amongst the
participants and sets of collaborative coordination and
management tools that allow the organisation of activities and
participants interactions. Currently they are based on cloud
infrastructures.
